z1 compact has served me well... practically cheaper since i dont need to buy a phone every year...

I have a Sony Xperia Z1 Compact since 2014. Six years!!! Have beautiful pics from holiday in Greece. Sony simply is not doing the right advertisement and keeping the cost too high. I would be sad, if Sony Mobiles would not be manufactured some day. There are no bothering bloatware or right swipe to get news or whether which you cannot get rid off!

I'm a bit disappointed there's no tof sensor and the design hasn't changed since last year. Glad I got the 1 II instead I prefer the squared off design and flat sides over the curved ones of to her Xperia 5 ii

Ask fans how amazing Xperia smartphones are - Japanese super quality, beautiful Sony brand name, made in Japan again, and this is just famous Sony etc. So will be absolutely convinced that $899 or so price tag for Xperia 5 II is not too much at all :). All latest iPhones, Pixels and other Huawei-Samsungs aren't good in making true-to-life photos which is very very bad. Just please do not complain about missing TOF sensor, Wireless charging, a bit weaker main sensor and the same crappy selfie camera. That's not important for Pro Photographers and for that price tag :).

No competition. Easily the best Compact flagship smartphone. Ticks a lot of boxes. Wish that it comes with 6", 68mm width at least (same as their best compact ever lived, Z3 Compact)
I'm happy with what Sony Xperia workaround recently.

The focus abilities can be wildly different Xperia 5 II compared to Xperia 1 II.
The quality is nowhere near the 1" sensor that for example Sony DSC-RX / ZV-1 uses.

We d... moreVectorR was speaking about Xperia 5. Ive tested 5 and 1 II and mark II its totally different camera. Its not my samples (I found that couple days ago on flickr; quality is almost like 1 inch sensor camera):

My samples you can find on YT (same nick). Ive tested Xperia 5 only indors and quality was good but I was not hyped. Still I have oportunity to compare 1 and 1 II but the winner is obvious..

We do not know YET how much the lack of ToF will compromise the focus capabilities of Xperia 5 II.
Not to mention the selfie cam is identical to the one with Xperia 1/5 - not that I use it for anything else but Duo calls.
