I tested Petal Search and you also can download straight from google some apps like clocks and maps and they all work and most are coming from apkpure and these guys have a good and protected app shop and must say I find all my apps I needed but the only app that was not working on full was my bankapp. It work but wireless pay didn't work and you can solve this with your creditcard/bankcard with wireless paying using a wallet case

This has MAJOR Security hazard written all over it.
You have malware present even in some apps present in the google play store, can you imagine just downloading and installing random apps without any kind of security oversight through a shady Chinese app!?
Don't be surprised if you find one day your bank account emptied because your banking app data has been stolen...

Don't they want everything to be closed why do they complain? Why don't implement a Chinese version of GDPR that's 10 times better respecting human rights? Something holding back!

Do not be naive, in china EVERYTHING ultimately obeys and is controlled by CCP, there are no real free enterprises, they all are state controlled, EVERYTHING there is to service CCP interests,

Anonymous, 12 Sep 2020Not only that, there's a legislation that formed since... moreIt's the US government that's making baseless allegations that the Chinese government will ask Huawei to spy. There is no evidence that ever happened and there is no evidence that ever will. The US government, however, has been spying on everyone through hacks and backdoors on network equipment (Snowden revelations) which has been declared illegal recently by the US courts and the US, in their hypocrisy, is acting like China will do the same.

"though other reports claim that regions like Spain and Turkey feature independent indexing directly from Huawei" If people of Spain and Turkey still need proof Huawei don't collect data, I don't know what else will. And those who wish Huawei's own indexing, don't worry, chances are, you've downloaded app. Give enough time, you'll have your wish.

AnonD-955101, 12 Sep 2020Is there any proof of that?
Link would be appreciated. No direct link, and it a lot of political scene behind. Don't be lazy and do your own research. I can tell you one thing though, Huawei started as network equipment manufacture, regardless how if they copied IP or not, it start domestically. Who do you think buy and run long term to feedback for Huawei initally? Chinese telecommunication companies of course. Do I need to break down that all telecommunication companies in China are state owned?
Than there's the belt and road. There's two version, the international (foreigner version) and the Chinese (local). Chinese companies who branch internationally get partially/fully backed support of the government. And, do yourself a favour, visit any of these Chinese companies oversea, you'll mostly (if not all) find Huawei or other Chinese networking gear, Lenovo PCs, etc. It really not rocket scientist to put the pieces together.

doesitmatter, 12 Sep 2020Your comment is with a democracy in mind, which China is no... moreNot only that, there's a legislation that formed since 07/08 that any corporation in China, when the government deem fit, they require full cooperation with the government. So, it doesn't really matter if it 'state' owned or not.
