A trade embargo by the US against China or vice versa, will bring about a new age of protectionism, which might very well cause the start of a war when countries' economies are suffering and tensions are high (read up on how the Great Depression helped cause WW2). Even if US and China managed to rebuild their economy and become totally non-reliant on each other after around 2 decades, tens of trillions will have been lost doing so, which can be spent on other useful stuff. No government in their right mind, USA or China, will ever think about a trade ban on each other.

US is just establishing control. Look the other way around for example selling FB to a Chinese company due to "unproven security" concerns and the Chinese doesn't want FB (a US company) wants to share data with US in order for the FB to be allowed to be used in China. As far as I know, Google and FB were notorious on data mining to a point that FBI were having deals with them. The US has made laws therefore making it legal that allows them to access any data and the terms and conditions with Google and FB allows that.
Tiktok has security that can't be snooped and the US won't like that. Well again, their basis were still "unproven" security concerns. China disagrees and it's fine. Disagreements does exist. Not anyone is required to say yes and just bend-over all the time.

If a prolonged trade war happens, economy will collapse and cause countries to be more aggressive. If a war between militaries (USA, China, Russia, India, Iran etc) occur, hundreds of millions of people will die and WW3 will probably start.

USA relies on China heavily for manufacturing, China relies on USA for their expertise in fields such as technology (example : chips). They can't just set up factories and industries in a couple of years. By stopping trade with each other, businesses will be screwed, hundreds of millions of people will lose their jobs worldwide, the pricing for a lot of items will skyrocket. It will cause a recession many times worse than the Great Depression, and will take both countries decades to recover from. Of course, that's assuming a war did not already break out because of this since The Great Depression was one of the main factors that caused WW2.
