This is by far the best take on dual screen phone. I hope this gets popular enough to get 2/3 more generations.

It is a nice phone yeah, but what about when you lose a pubg game and you start trying to separate the 2 parts?

Kinda acceptable excuse other than the one spouted by a beloved maker that removing the jack added a massive 100mah capacity to their batteries.
Thank ggodness you stick around. The majority of netizens here are just r/hailcorporate variety parroting their favorite rectangle manufacturers PR speak.

KondriX, 13 Sep 2020Who are the other brands who are experimenting? 😀 Well, LG... moreThe problem with LG is that they never fully marketed their quirky ideas unlike Apple and Samsung so it never resulted in any sales. Even this T phone will not likely get much promotion. Their marketing department needs to step up.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2020MIL_STD is just marketing speak but other than that, we sti... moreMIL_STD is actually way more relevant and useful than IP rating as may IP67/IP68 rated phone die in water, while the Milspecs, more precisely the MIL-STD-810 is a military standard, and because of the harsh conditions a soldier get in, the equipment need a minimum build quality and toughness.
I doubt it will have the Jack because of the body being in two parts, it will be too thin, at least for a regular implementation of the Jack, a magnetic connector or a 2.5mm Jack + adapter could be possible though, though unlikely.
And considering that not only removing the Jack was only done for the purpose of selling expensive Bluetooth earphones and was precisely done because many peoples were still using the Jack, as otherwise they wouldn't have bought the Wireless accessories.
If peoples were not using it that much and would have prefer to buy the Wireless accessories, for all those who use it, it would have been normal to keep it, that's why phones still support 3G and can connect to old Wi-Fi protocols like 802.11a or old Bluetooth after all, because it is important to not lets those with older tech forgotten.
But since many other brands made their own wireless stuff, often better and cheaper, and that peoples clearly expressed their annoyance toward the removal of the Jack, and it is easily seen :
https://www.androidauthority.com/wired-headphones-after-bluetooth-poll-1153236/
Well, it is logic that they put it back now that it doesn't generate much money, in fact many peoples will choose the phone that actually have the Jack port, making them loose money, so, of course they put it back.
It was never a question of "too old" or "obsolete" tech or "waste of space" or that "wasn't used enough" or anything, it was a greedy and anti-consumer move for the sake of profits and it bite back, also it was only done because Apple and Samsung (which are in direct competition and copy each other a lot) did it, so everyone had to copy them.
Even Samsung is apparently putting it back.
It was obvious that it was a bad idea, replacing it with a magnetic connector would be a great idea, but not removing it altogether.
Removing the front camera, the vibration motor or the Bluetooth would have probably caused less resistance than removing the Jack.

AnonD-955101, 13 Sep 2020What a exiting time to be tech enthusiast.
Many brands are... moreI totally agree, though don't you think your comment is a little ironic considering that not long ago you were the one complaining about a design change possibility I talked about ?
Design change that, by the way, is way less niche than this LG Wing...
See what I mean now, there is no "bad designs", if peoples want it, good, they can buy it, if they don't, doesn't matter, they won't buy it, but in any case, preventing a tech from being born by flooding it with negativity isn't the way to go.
Diversity > Any design.

KondriX, 13 Sep 2020Who are the other brands who are experimenting? 😀 Well, LG... moreMIL_STD is just marketing speak but other than that, we still have no idea if this one keeps the headphone jack that LG stuck with for so long and other companies are now putting back in some of their models. Like Sony and Xiaomi.

Well, LG always was experimenting, I can say it was a pioneer in mobile phones, they introduced wide-angle camera with G5, second screen with V10, QuadDac, AOP mics and many more. I think they are the only who make MIL-STD not rugged phones, not sure. It will be said if they won't succeed..
