Sony launches A7C, a compact $1800 full-frame camera

A Sony A7 III, but in a smaller body.

Well, this camera is compact... until You put a lens on it. With the same mount as other FF cameras there is really no difference in size. This type of body should be left for A6X00 only, since it brings no real advantage against A7 III.

    Nice camera but with really dark lense. Not worth to buy IMO.

      The massive top hump, housing the viewfinder, on the A7 III gives it a lot more height and is not suitable for a compact carry pouch/case as the A7C. It sticks out quite a bit more towards the back as well, and the grip housing the battery sticks out more in front. All in all the difference is quite noticeable - depending on your use.

                            Well, ther is sigma fp as well, but this one performs better also got better grip.
                            Waited so long for this, they could bring higher resolution and 8K, but its 1.gen and so little competition, cannot expect more. Maybe bended medium format sensor in the future, cannot wait. For now it looks like bended will be in regular A7 line, not compact one I think.

                                Well I think the Canon EOS M5 is a perfect example of a small compact camera body. It has loads of customisable dials, a centre-mounted EVF, great in-hand feel with premium materials... Obviously it would have to be made bigger to accommodate a full-frame sized sensor. Personally I really dislike the A6000 bodies, firstly because of the rangefinder EVF placement and also because of a lack of dials, meaning a lot more of the settings are menu-driven.

                                    I remember holding the A6600 last time, dont have any complains about ergonomics.

                                    How do u prefer compact camera should look like?

                                        Sony FF is already much smaller than other brands.

                                        They also need to consider heat dissipation.
                                        Larger sensor produces more heat.
