Entire iPhone 12 lineup will miss out on 120Hz displays, says Ming-chi Kuo

15 September 2020
Apple will start using high refresh rate displays on its phones next year, though, claims the analyst. The 5.4" iPhone 12s will have narrower notches.

DLLM, 15 Sep 2020no, iphone pros are higher than FHD. FHD is 1080p
QHD is 1440p
and
iphone pro(s) is....
1125p (11 pro) & 1242p (12 pro)

and those 'barely higher' than FHD costs >1000$ while Android, since 2014 (LG g3 & oppo Find 7), has introduced 2K (QHD) display, for around 300 euro (the price of flagship phones at that time).

on 2017, Sony introduce 4K display (xz premium), and still, it cost around 320 euro!

see how much Apple 'inflate' their products price tag with some 'bullshit' marketing jargon (Retina, super Retina, etc) that serves nothing except justifying their pricing policy?

iRajApple, 16 Sep 2020Yes pleaseNot possible. Unoptimised Android OS can't last half a day with iPhone's batteries.

Xiaomi and Huawei phones comes close, but what they did was aggressively killing apps, leading to non notification delivery, and weird behaviours.. leading to people suspecting leaking data..

You can see Android 11 .. and even 12 onwards will kill even more android features just to keep up with iOS. So no. Android will only grow bigger.. bigger then an elephant's FOOT.

Mr A, 15 Sep 2020My dream size 5'4". Wish Chinese copy this size too.. Yes please

And it was also trash. There was a lot of such stuff. Sure Android did a lot of things well, but pretending Apple just copies everything and never does anything by themselves just makes you look like a stupid Android fanboy.

Gestures only got incorporated in the main OS as an out of the box feature just like split screen multitasking which existed way back before it got incorporated into main Stock OS.

Anonymous, 16 Sep 2020Lol can you honestly say that after IOS 13? They literally ... moreFunny, when you look at Android 11, half of the stuff was copied from iOS 13. So, make up your mind who copied who. Navigation gestures in Android are literal copy of gesture navigation from iOS. Which it was THE FIRST. But people just like to s**t on Apple that they don't innovate at all. It's a difference between doing something first and doing something well. Apple has this weird tendency of doing things late, but when they do them, they do them properly on a level that it makes it first in that thing being actually usable and offering good experience. Sure it was interesting in watching all the Chinese companies making popup cameras, rotating cameras, sliding chassis in order to remove in-display front cameras, but ultimately, the notch just doesn't bother me anymore. Everyone looks at it as an intrusion into the display. I look at it as an extension of display corners where battery and signal icons are placed. I absolutely love FaceID and while it's a bit of a problem now with masks, I'm not changing my opinion on it. Others offered face unlock first, but Apple did it first in way it's actually fast, reliable and actually secure. But people just like to wave it away as "Apple doesn't innovate at all" and ignoring all the times Apple actually innovated.

True, it costs more, but even that argument falls apart at times. 10.2 inch iPad for $329, released today, A12 chip. iPhone SE "2" $399, A13 chip. MacBook Air $999 (or Mac mini for $799). Despite being on the "cheap" end of Apple devices, all are still highly competitive performance-wise, and have the same premium build/material quality as the top-shelf stuff, and overall price for all three is quite reasonable compared to an all-Android, or combo-Android/Windows ecosystem (phone, tablet, computer). I am assuming of course that by three overpriced devices, you mean the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Do you want all the items on the food menu with average taste
Or you want few of them but delicious.
Not every feature matters to you. Those which matters should be the best out there.

Apple has its own cons mainly it's ecosystem trap and monopolistic paid services. But that is also not an issue those who can afford it. It's ecosystem is getting more and more exclusive and I don't like it. I will continue to use iphones mainly for its security and reliability and won't be upgrading my watch and laptop.
