These are only the numbers of handsets shipped by each manufacturer as opposed to how many have actually been sold. Samsung could have shipped 10 million of their SGS3 to USA, but if only 1 million were sold so far and 9 million are still sitting in stores around the country then thats not a good thing. We need to see the sales figures, not the shipment figures.

Congrats to Sammy once again..........Sammy is no.1 because they make the best devices..........Sammy should release their next Galaxy note when iPhone 5 will release and at the same time they should upgrade to Jelly bean to beat iPhone5.........

whether u hate it or love it, it has killed nokia from no 1 spot n put it on no 2 wereas in smartphone category they throw apple on 2nd spot n my eyes hardly see nokia WPs as they r much far from 1st or 2nd spot... Same way LG, HTC,.motorola, sony,all r behind samsung... Whether u believe it or not, but samsung is way ahead thn u all n one more thing if u dont believe in these figures thn u should not be allowed to comment or browse this site...i think i made u cry,,, well keep some for 3rd and 4th quarter of thz year... :-P

yeahyeah, 17 Jul 2012its probably because everyone is poor in the phillipines an... morebtw, Filipinos are divided among three groups: rich, mid, poor. Not all Filipinos are poor. That's quite a bit harsh judgement. Even on my previous comments i stated that, "NOT ALL Filipinos can afford......". I myself bought my N9 cash though i belong to the mid class Filipinos.

Cash basis is quite hard if you don't have a decent job. But actually, many Filipinos use featurephones regardless of its brand(Nokia, Samsung, etc). I'm a proud Nokia N9 user, i don't hate Samsung but i do hate smartass jerks commenting false/fake infos.

I, too, has a hard time seeing people using a nokia smartphone but everywhere i look, i mostly see people using Nokia featurephones more than i see samsung's. Not everyone in the philippines can buy a SGS3 worth P37,000($800)same as Nokia 808 for P30,000($600+) You might be seeing people inside your samsung store but are yoy sure they're all buying or just sneeking around? Oh, btw, you might want to guard the samsung store and check if they are all really buying those then come back here and defend your thought.=)

It is not that surprising to see Sammy increasing their smart phones sales. Congratulation Sammy. Just keep on improving the smartphone design, reliablility and battery performance.

Ok I bought Samsung S3 after using IPhone for 2years and drop the Samsung S 3 once the inner literally cracked but iPhone dropped more than 6 times already very disappointed with durability of the Samsung ......

Now Apple fans can thank profusely to Samsung. They will get their iPhone sooner than expected. That's called competition and is always welcome.
Apple starts feeling the pressure of a real competitor that is beyond the lawsuit trick and the only thing they have left to do is move on, catch up, shake that lazy a$$ of theirs to release phones in a faster pace than once a year. Let's hope iPhone 6 (or whatever it gets named) hits the shelves around summer next year.
Thank you Samsung. You deserve to be thanked from both Android and iOS sides, for bringing capable gadgets that challenge Apple's monopoly over top tier smartphones, thus accelerating the market and giving us better quality products. Long live to both platforms (even 3 with WP, if it ever makes it to the major leagues)!
