Anonymous, 18 Jul 2012I don't agree with what you are saying at all. First of all... moreThey did it with galaxy s2 and now this!
They will probably cancel Note 2 64 too.
Its the market I guess.
Most people probably wouldn't need a lot of storage. 16GB is big enough for them.
But that's not the point. Samsung has announced the spec for S3; available in 16, 32 and 64 Gb internal storage. That to me is a promise. Keep breaking promises and there won't be trust anymore among Samsung fans. We will turn elsewhere...HTC, Sony even the fruit company...

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2012I am a bit confused that people have managed to fill up bot... moreI don't agree with what you are saying at all. First of all, larger microSD(XC) cards are unreliable and are likely to be more so the more space you cram into this form factor. It doesn't take much common sense to realize that denser memory is more fragile and prone to data corruption. If the phone supported full SDXC or even had at least two SDXC slots, then I wouldn't care as much about the internal space.

Also, as other people have pointed out here, the SD card is not as fast as the internal memory and you cannot keep programs in the SD card. The phone is a highly capable multimedia phone using a high def screen resolution. With such specs it is pretty stingy even with 32GB. If you look at games such as Modern Combat 3, it needs almost 2GB of storage and this number is going to grow as more of the hi def functionality of the phone is utilized in coming titles. Playstation and XboX games has far surpassed the DVD size and on the PC the game Max Payne 3 takes almost 30GB. So we are likely to see this development on smartphones as well. And now I haven't mentioned hi def movie content and higher quality music formats such as flac and monkey's audio.

And no, USB OTG is not as useful as some people are trying to emphasize. It sure is a good thing to have when e.g. camping but it would be a big nuisance to keep the phone in the pocket with such a configuration in a normal day-to-day situation.

If it is true that they will cancel this phone I think it would be a pretty sh!tty thing if not criminal thing to do. Making promises and not keep them only creates bad will and creates more loss for them than not making such a promise at all. It will just show that they are not loyal to their customers.

I don't buy into that there is a technical difficulty behind this. Toshiba has manufactured surface mounted 128GB SSD capsules (BGA) particularly for SoC configurations since 2010 so fitting some st!nking 64GB shouldn't be much of a problem for Samsung.

I am a bit confused that people have managed to fill up both the phone's internal memory and a SD-card as well.
First of all I think it is strange that people buy a phone with 16 GB internal memory if that is not enough.
First of all I would like to point out that Samsung Galaxy S3 supports SDXC, that means that you can get hold of SD-cards bigger than 32 GB.
How knows, perhaps Samsung can get the SGS3 to support the SDXC standard fully and we could use SD cards as large as 2 TB.

Another solution could be to use an OTG(On-The-Go)USB cable. Such cable allows you to connect an USB memory stick to your phone. An OTG cable supports a lot of other USB devices as well.
Take a look at this video for more info.

Bad screen, ... morei am certain that the next iphone will be nothing compared to galaxy s3, like what happend to 4s and s2. apple is already late with the dual core phones and still not able to reach the performance level of s2. and for the screen, everyone knows that super amoled plus is way better than retina.hd screen not included as this will make the retina so cheap..poor apple as they even try to stop the sales of samsung because they know they are loosing..

GS3 supports 64GB memory card. So i think 16GB built in storage is enough for almost everyone. I can use my memory card with my next phone. Can i do the same with my built in storage?

What is it with these companies now adays releasing each version of their phones separately. just like iphone 4 black and white, Nokia Lumia 900 16gb, ppl still havent seen 32gb. SGS2, just like iphone white version of sgs2 came after 3 to 6 months.

and now they are cancelling a version that they should have brought out the same day as 16gb and 32gb for storage hungry ppl

AnonD-61602, 18 Jul 2012EVEN n8 priced below 400$ has 16 gb internal+card support u... morethe SIII also has the SD slot card. The point is that, with the SD slot, there's no need to have a version with so much integrated memory. Noone would buy it because of the higher initial price, as it's better to buy an SD card later when you need it, and that's probably the reason why they cancelled it. So I really can't get the point in your comparison.

androidFan, 17 Jul 2012seems like u are an htc fan. one x comes with 32 gb of fixe... moreEVEN n8 priced below 400$ has 16 gb internal+card support upto 32 gb(16 gb runs smoothly)+on the go support(u can connect your hard disk giving external power supply)
                                      how many HD movies will u have there(upto 720p , n8 supports).
WHAT I MEAN TO SAY IS, even 16 gb is enough, but HOX has 26 gb user visible storage,so the card slot is not the MORE thing we should get for that more cost
its worthy if 12mp+ cam, more RAM n more cores only
