Though I'm happy with a jack and ldac is still the best for wireless, they could improve something, if they would come with a lossless, it would kill the other brands. Though its just a wish.

Regarding the touch controls, I would also add that they tend to ignore touches if your hands are a bit wet (from sweat or rain, for instance).

Zupelius, 21 Sep 2020What about b&o beoplay h9 3rd gen comparing to sony 100... moreWhile I'm no expert, I am a bit of an audiophile and will try to answer your question from that perspective. The B & O H9s (3rd Gen) have a more flat sonic signature by which I mean they don't "colorize" or boost the sound in any part of the frequency range. You'll get to enjoy the recording as it was meant to be cos the reproduction by the cans is pretty faithful to the original track. The H9s produce a very clean sound and have great soundstage with distinct instrumental separation and vocals sound crisp.
The 1000XM4s on the other hand can sound much more cramped. They tend to boost the mids and the bass end of the spectrum more, in my view and produce a more "bright" sound. However, if bass is your thing, I'd say the Sony might be a better choice. Of course, there are several other factors to consider like the stability of the connection, materials, call quality etc. I'm hearing a lot of reports about the XM4s being very buggy right now - future firmware updates may/may not fix the issues. One might be tempted to wait for a potential 1000XM5, but given Sony's recent record, that could be toward the end of 2022.

I’m finding the WH1000-XM4’s to be slightly problematic with their Bluetooth connectivity. I have to hit the connect button (left earphone) every time I power them on. Otherwise I’m really satisfied with the overall quality and sound output from them. I think it was a great purchase.

And since the 1000XM4s also lack aptX support, they are a better choice overall as they have better battery life too (36 hrs with ANC ON). If money is no object, the premium Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95s are arguably the best BT headphones in the world right now. Superb battery life (38 hrs with ANC ON, 50 hrs sans ANC), exquisite B&O signature sound, wide soundstage & separation, aptX Adaptive, BT 5.1 and plush leather and aluminum construction. However, they certainly don't come cheap at $ 800.

DDM, 19 Sep 2020"you can get phenomenally better sounding headphones f... moreGrado SR line are cheaper and much better sounding, as are senneheiser HD6xx or HD5xx from massdrop are both amazing headphones and are between $100 and $200 cheaper.
However, all these are wired, open ear headphones, so the don't block out noise, at all and people around you hear what you are playing. They are great for listening at home, but not for the outside environment.

Audio technica is better,go to Yodobashi camera in Akihabara,Tokyo and ask staff.Staff would say Sony are average

What software has to do with the physical comfort for your ears ....
It is time, after the breakthrough airpods, now, somebody to make auto detect for L and R...for us not to always look what cup is the right one
