What breakthrough do you actually want to see from a pair of headphones?

Almost 30h using ANC, but is not enough to Gsmarena.
Competition offers less endurance even with ANC turned off.

audio quality is poor. not as good as for example dt770, and far from hd650 that i have. you pay for BT and noise cancelling.
        Earcup is quite small.

Short review from me: The same -30dB as xm3 but less annoying voices. At full volume it should not distort bass anymore, it was probably some kind of anc problem.
Most important, despite having best anc it got less of anc pressure (what you feel after turning anc on) at least compared to bose.
Also 360 reality audio is definitely not a gimmick as is simulate spatial sound, even if not binaural its better than regular stereo(even apple try to copy that, how can it be gimmick).
Definitely worth the money as noise is everywhere and it feels great to have less of it or no noise at all, no competitor for sony in that field for now.

                    I hope they won't bundle WF-XM3 again :(

I personaly can't wait to review them, but to me it's not perfect by any means + multipoint does not work with LDAC, they droped AptX support because they went with lover quality Mediatek BT chip, no support for low latency etc.

I wonder if these are the headphones that will be paired with the sony xperia 5 ii as the pre-order bonus... Anybody knows?

interesting that What Hifi declares WH-1000XM4 has awarding winning headphones and but this reviewer states so so performance in sound quality, i gather this reveiw with a pinch of salt

Ahhh... Yes, now I can buy a heavily discounted XM3.
