I have the Oneplus 8 pro, what exactly is different with this one? The only way I'll spend another grand on the 8t pro (when or if it exists) is if the camera is under display or they bring back the pop up camera. I sold my 7 pro to get the 8 pro and I honestly miss my 7 pro. Makes me wish I kept the 7 pro.

So OnePlus start to get a bit of their sanity back :
*First they got two neurons connecting and realized that if that many peoples complain about curved display and list their cons, it mean that perhaps they should make less phones with it, you know, going edge to edge without having glares or distortion on the side, connecting the two sides in straight line.
*A third neuron got created, but it was still really small and with this little additional though power they realized that the 2Mp Macro is useless as it give really bad quality pictures while on the other hand, Xiaomi with their 5Mp Macro get really good shots, not amazingly high resolution but still good quality if we don't zoom in, so they got rid of the 2Mp Macro and put a 5Mp one so it is easier to see smaller objects from close up without being a mess of pixels.
*Apparently they fixed their third neuron that was running in the wrong direction, as they understood apparently that a wider angle like on the ultrawide mean more pixels per degrees, meaning that something that before had, lets say 200px, on the same scene and at the same distance, only get 100px with a twice as large angle with the same resolution, and to archive good quality compared to the 12Mp wide/regular they needed to increase the resolution on the ultrawide, which their third neuron now working properly allowed them to put a 16Mp ultrawide, so now we can see a bigger picture with more details and it can allow us to figure out some little details.
*Amazingly, they successfully got their three neuron running from 1% to 2% and realized that maybe, that extremely often asked feature that is stereo speaker should perhaps be done, as 2 is in many cases better than 1.

But, their brain are still really smartn't at this point :
*Remember their third neuron that was plugged backward ? Well, it made them only able to give a 5Mp Macro rather than pushing it closer to the 12Mp standard, even a 8Mp one would have been great and wouldn't have cost much more, but going against the flow of the trend is already hard, but getting ahead, which require logic, can't ask for too much...
*The hole from which all their original neurons they had got lost made them get bad idea in their head, which is what inspired them to keep the punch hole rather than an option many asked to be back which is the pop up camera, who allow to avoid holes and hide itself so your thought can't escapes and get to someone else.
*When they had only 2 neurons left and they were not connected yet, they decided to not include the 3.5mm Jack, because with their wireless thing getting hold and basically every brand starting to put it back, it isn't a clear enough sign apparently, but oh well, when you only have two lonely neurons it is too hard to understand that having two standards is better than one, so thinking binary with "either use wireless or nothing" was an obvious outcome at this point.
*The side effect of the creation of the third neuron, which took all their mental capability, resulted in the decision to put no SD card slot, you know at time were we have increasing need for internal space and Smartphone still have the same 128Gb and 256Gb option since multiple years now without increasing it, and with smartphones becoming more photography oriented, surely no one ever need to use an SD card slot, but it was parasite thoughts, thinking that unchanged memory since multiple years + no SD card slot is a good idea can't be blamed on them, because why changing a loosing team when you can get an obvious masterclass combo ?
*When the third neuron tried to connect with the two others, it created some static thoughts that were highly incoherent, which resulted in the decision to keep the useless 2Mp Depth sensor rather than either bump it up to 5Mp, because, you know, only upgrade one useless sensor at time toward a more useful resolution, or rather than replacing it by a periscope telephoto, because a low resolution sensor that only will result in parasites at best when trying to make it work with a high resolution one, or the popular and highly desired capability to look far away without having a noisy pictures from numeric zoom isn't a thought you can get with parasitic noisy thought that result from an attempt at thinking.
*While their head is of normal proportions, their inside only allow for so much neurons as it is quite low volume, this is what lead to no more neurons developing inside their head, which in turn made them create an ultra thin smartphone, you know now that we have more and more things to put in it, high battery standards and despite thinner mobiles having no advantages (as long as they aren't a brick of course) and are even worse at handling, why would you want to make a more sensitive 10mm to 12mm device that can allow for 6000Ah battery, more effecting cooling from the start + dedicated cooling, wireless charging and less cost caused by forcing many things into a tiny volume, but thinking about making it so that you have enough space for more features when you don't have enough space to have all your neurons is quite difficult.
*Finally, remember how I said no more neurons developing inside their head ?
Well, it doesn't mean none would develop outside, the issue is that now you have to make the synapses connect through a solid object, so, of course poor ideas are going to come from that, such as using optical underdisplay FPS, you know, looking through an opaque object, rather than using something that can already easily get through solid objects, like ultrasounds for example, but the issue is, since they aren't the only one with low neurons counts, because the first ultrasonic FPS was not properly implemented, the not so bright brain of the common folk is unable to update and realize that this, better in every aspect FPS, not that it is fixed and have no issues anymore, may mean that it could be nice to have ?
But I am not am expert, maybe a better thing isn't the right solution, anyway, sadly, when the neurons can't get through, you fail to think and therefor only use what you know, because why changing something quite "meh" for something completely awesome ?
