iOS Never Again, 25 Sep 2020Way better than iOS, where you are getting 10 year old feat... morePeople keep saying that, but as Android user since Eiclar up to Pie (and my last actually being MIUI) and now iOS user since iOS 12, I can say it's not true at all. Apple has their way of doing things, but they aren't necessarily bad. Sure, iOS only got widgets now, but I like them more than I ever had on Android. They are simple, consistent and do their job. Basic info right there on home screen. They are always of predictable size and never break the home screen flow. Where on Android, all widgets always feel so janky and buggy and the size is never predictable even though they state their allocated size, they always seem to overlap their boundaries and even resizing them doesn't make things better. No such problems with iOS widgets. Granted, I do wish they'll also add 1x2 and 1x4 size widgets, but it's not end of the world not having them. But would be handy. And make them all stackable like their main fixed widget stack (if they are of the same size). So you could stack all the weather widgets into one and then just swipe through them. Or all the battery widgets. That would be frigging cool and something no Android has. Which already stands true for the stock widget stack. I only use 2, weather and calendar, but I think it's super cool feature as I have two widgets size of 2x4 yet they only take 2x4 as whole. It's nice and I wish Android had such uniform widget system instead of janky 300 trillion weird sized widgets that end up looking totally out of place in the end. So, yeah, you may hate on Apple for doing widgets just now, but they've done it better. At least as far as I'm concerned and I'm an UI/UX nerd and I approve their design. It's just provides basic info and is more friendly, pleasant and consistent. And that's what most users expect from widgets.
