          If what you say was official and 80% of the world choose Android, this is of course broken up between Samsung, Huawei, Sony, LG, Nokia, Motorola and God only knows how many other Chinese firms!

          20% of that global market share then belongs to just 1 company...Apple...how many Apple users are on this planet? Literally millions upon millions, there all stupid according to you? Fools Logic.

            What kind of bubble you are living? That pretty much fit for most smartphone users nowdays, because maybe this come as surprise to you, but most people who buy smartphones are just average non tech people who couldn’t care less.

                  Usually they know only the brand.
                  I can safely say is 50-50.

                    my first choice was the LG V60 thinq, reason is the headphone jack and dac , but due to the unavailability to get an unlocked one I ended up getting the iphone 11 pro max, my other preference in a phone is the battery, so far the iphone is giving me a good battery life, but I still have my eye on the LG... hopefully I will find an unlocked one with US warranty. personally I do not need my phone to watch videos on it, I prefer watching streams via big screen, that is what my laptop, desktop and tv are for, depending where I am at when connecting to the internet. Phones are a matter of preference and budget of course, each will always have a strength and weakness relative to the price and features...most people in the world, esp the older gen only use the phone to make a call or text, not everyone need a full featured camera, memory, speed demon, high refresh rate or a (negligible UHD screen) in a phone, it is a nice feature but not really beneficial to others if it is an added expense to the device that small.

                        Stock ROM skips practically all the useful features that are more likely to be present on other Android skins (irrespective of whether they are light or heavy skins).

                        People who brag about stock ROM being better usually lack experience of using different Android skins (especially skins from 2020).
                        I have used All type of phones as daily driver in the past decade.
                        About 30-40 phones over a period of time mostly flagships.
                        In 2020, I'll rather use one ui, miui, zen ui based Androids over stock OS which lacks latest features and is basically playing catchup.

                            IPhones also dominate the list worlwide, from top 10 best selling phone lists all iPhones are in the lists while from Android zero flagship phones. It just tells how Apple is collecting all the goods and leaving leftovers for Android. More and more people want to be in iOS ecosystem and who could blame them. People are slowly waking up what Android is and what it isn't.

                              Just like Most people don't need to buy the most expensive car to travel from one place to another. 
                              An average car gets the job done. 

                              This is why Android is the OS of choice on smartphones.
                              Apple won't ever release a phone at 200$ as they care more about profits than giving their customers what they want.

                                  That isn't the reason, reason is very simple, most Android phones sold are cheap $200 phones and Apple doesn't have anything to offer there. Just look how popular new iPhone SE is, right away when Apple released phone for new price point it's been instant hit. Just think what would happen if Apple release $200 iPhone. Luckily for Android fans Apple doesn't do that, atleast they can keep that marketshare thing for now :D

                                      The carrier system in the US and lack of unlocked devices makes it even more difficult to get their hands on great phones.
                                      Banning Huawei and other companies isn't helping either.
