So women putting on makeups have mental issues? I think only people that don't want to look good have issues

I always turn it off when it's on, but I like the change of being off by default.
I do not really use selfie cam for anything but DUO calls, but I am not fan, for example, Samsung and Apple processing on photos taken with front cams.
Many might like it, but for me, it seems like a GoPro 8 turned up to eleven.

TBH the reason behind this change seem laughable at best ;)

They're woke now for the publicity but as soon as people perceive other brands to take better selfies they'll bring it back

This whole retouch trend was first started by Chinese companies I guess. Long ago when I first bought a Huawei phone it had this feature and I was like, why does this even exist ? Surprised because none of my other phones had it. It's a highly edited picture at the end, it's fake and that's not actually you, and looked so weird to me, every time I had to turn it off

This is good to see. By default I would want my camera to take true to life pictures.

on pixel 4a selfie camera, the photo becomes too yellowish when it sees a face. covering my face makes the photo look natural. hope google fixes this.

With this going on, I hope Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and other brands that uses skin smoothing will turn it off by default, especially Samsung. Beauty is nice, but don't change the skin color to white, it just looks weird. Let the user opt for it. Huawei did improve though, their selfie camera is now awesome

I only use selfie camera as a mirror. To check if there is something wrong with my face. Of course I want it to show all the flaws and not retouch it on the fly. But hey, whole world is obsessed with these stupid narcissistic selfies. And now Google is selling the decision to turn it off as "well being" feature. LMAO. It should be off and stuff like FaceTune should be prohibited by law ffs...
