anyts, 04 Oct 2020Seems that you have never used a backside Google`s fingerpr... moreI own a Pixel 3 and have to use the scanner most of the time. I get locked out of the phone and have to enter the pin about 30% of the time, because it does this after ~5 failed fingerprint attempts.

I own the S7 and the front fingerprint sensor was more reliable, not 100%, but close.

I have the Poco X3 with the side sensor and it works about 70-80% of the time.

I use laptops with fingerprint readers, on the Yoga I have a success rate of ~30%, again having to enter the pin quite a few times. Found a sweet spot (position/pressure) and now I'm up to 60%. That one has a square fingerprint sensor. I've also used the horizontal line-type ones with similar 'success', perhaps even a bit better.

      Are we going to continue to ignore the fact that many pixel owners including the 3a are having issues with their camera either not working or the OIS malfunctioning? The problems all seemed to arise after software updates.

      One needs to look no further than the reviews for the Google camera app to see the commonality of the problem. It's something Google repeatedly refuses to acknowledge yet continues to market and tout the camera as the best in the market! I sense another class action lawsuit coming.

        PixelOS is the wildcard compared to competition. I don't trust the competition.

            To me both 5 and 4a (not the 5G variant) seem attractive - they are pretty well-speced and I they are compact (I don't think there are any other well-speced phones on the market smaller than 15 cm?). However, the design is so utterly generic that it's painful to look at :(

                      My Pixel 2's battery is noticeably not what it once was so had been set on getting a 4a, after the delays however I decided to wait and see what the 5 would offer. I reserved myself one as soon as I saw offers go live for one simple reason: symmetrical bezels.

                      The slightly wider bottom on the 4a (and basically every other "full screen" phone) would bother me more than they should - I know because I tried to switch to an S10e but returned it...

                        Why do people have to knock stuff. Personally I come to sites like this to be informed and not to be told how rubbish someone thinks something is. We need to know the compromises that manufacturers have made (there are always some) so that we can decide whether or not this is an issue for ourselves. Don't need to know that, in your opinion, Google have made a massive mistake and this launch is all wrong. Especially as your data seems to be incorrect, in the UK at least the Samsung S20FE 5G is £699, OnePlus 8 Pro £799 and Pixel 5 £599. Why compare these as if they are equal when priced so differently?

So the 18mm is actually 27mm, which is very similar to most phone cameras.

                                The "overpriced piece of crap" as many people on here have called it sold out in Germany already, 11 days before the actual release.
                                So guess what...it might actually be that Google struck a nerve with the phone? Great camera , clean UI, montly security updates and a compact formfactor.

                                Considering that you get free Bose headphone with the Pixel 5 which are alone worth 200 bucks you cant go wrong with this phone.

                                  Great article. Very succinctly summed up the problem with the Pixel series. Underwhelming hardware and overly expensive even with all that Google software magics. Just not worth the cost.

                                    For me when the price will drop. clean software + best updates + "small" phone + great camera is a sure win.
                                    So it might be biased according, but its subjective like your opinion ;)

                                        Also preorders get a free Bose QC35 ii pair of headphones.

                                        Main factors for me here is the size, strong processor, class leading camera. For what will cost about £399 after selling the headphones.
