Why No ONE but NO ONE mentioned SIZE OF PIXEL phones!!!! bunch of us are fed up with fckn phablet phones!!!! I wanna phone smaller than 158mm, that is suitable for one hand use..

THIS IS MAIN SELLING POINT OF PIXEL !!! SIZE!!!!
go to search on gsmarena and put only phones under 155mm..
Results are poor.. So pixel 5 or 4a 5g is OBVIOUS CHIOICE!!!

Damn. GSM Arena *really* hate Pixel phones huh?

Aside from factual errors littered throughout the article, the author wasn't even trying to be impartial or unbiased.

I don't and have never had a Pixel phone, but yikes, this was a really bad article.

One of the most important part of the user experience is the screen. Why should a consumer pay a higher price for Pixel 5 and go for a smaller screen size, when compared to 4a 5g? For premium phones other than apple the screen hovers between 6.2 - 6.7". I find this to be a ridiculous decision. You pay more and you get a smaller screen estate! Does it make any sense? Even google the search engine can give us the answer to this question, which the techs at mountainview fail to realise!!

Correction: Pixel 1 had headphone jack. They ditched it in Pixel 2

Just dont buy this overhyped/overpriced junk, get us a new nexus/price to performace champ or go home google we had enough of this pixel line.

It's strange or disappointing thing. Smartphone camera image quality seems to have plateaued. Pixel started the Computational Photography thing, with a host of great algorithm tricks to greatly improve everything on the tiny smartphone camera (HDR+, super res zoom, night sight, motion mode etc). Then they stopped improving the hardware, and for many generations it's a very similar 12MP sensor with the same or identical pixel size too.
Since Pixel is the flag bearer, it's sad that they haven't done much to again improve things and lead the smartphone camera industry.

Annas, 04 Oct 2020This is always an statement from people who cannot afford..... moreThis is a statement from someone who can't even do a simple math, or just an idi0t. If there's a lot of alternative phones, with better features, better specifications, almost at the same price or even lower, what do you call those things? Toys?

Google made phones that nobody even want to have it, that's the point of this article. They are inconsistent and overpriced. I personally agree why in the world they create phones that nobody wants it, unless: the big price drops. Then they might can sell those junks.

Overall I agree with the article. Just one note, you seem to miss the fact that Pixel 5 also has IP68 rating, which is an expensive feature, and not quite mid-rang.
Still, this features-price zone the Pixel 5 is in, would definitely make buying it a decision you need to think about many times.

Pixel HQ is nothing but a confused Mess 😐

Pros of Pixel 5: IP68 rating, 90 Hz, wireless charging.
Pros of Pixel 4a 5G: 3.5mm audio jack, $200 cheaper price tag.

Hmmm... I personally don't care much about screen refresh rate or wireless charging. But I do value the IP68 rating and 3.5mm audio jack feature, and I can have either one of them.

My only issue is the price... but will probably bite the bullet.
I have money burning in my pocket waiting for a phone that is
                            small
                            has reasonlable battery
does not have exynos , which where I am at, every samsung does (because I dont want to own another phone that heats up when doing absolutely nothing)

Backside fingerprint sensors a... moreSeems that you have never used a backside Google`s fingerprint scanner.. i used to own Pixel 2, that has backside scanner.. my latest phone was Samsung S20.. that had in screen scanner.. Samsungs scanner fails almost 30% of the time.. and im not using screen protector and i have registered one finger 3 times.. Google Pixel 2 backside sensor almost never fails.. and its A LOT MORE comfortable.. the reason i sold s20 is mostly because of that in screen fingerprint scanner.. that "looks cool" but is pretty much useless and incovinient to use.. at moment i have Sony that has side scanner.. thats ok.. better than on screen.. but you cant match google with their scanner..

There is no overpriced in this world...nothing is free of charge
If pixel 5 would been half the price, than the lowest end devices that costs 100$ should be free....and again, the conflict between nothing is free on this world and this

dbjungle, 04 Oct 2020Underdisplay fingerprint sensors are bad.Agreed - however, at some point- they will be accurate and standard at all price points, most likely.

I love the Pixel 5 - first Android with true symmetrical bezels. At $699, it's still a hard sell, considering iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 are pretty much gonna cost the same and will be miles ahead in overall build, performance and software department. I hope Google brings the price down to at least $549. I think it's gonna be a steal at that price.

                                      Wow

I understand the point, but having used OP7T gsmarena praised as the best smartphone in its long-term review together with my aging Pixel 2 who is still performing well, all I can say is the hardware specs are only half of the story. Overall user experience is much more important. And therefore I broke the rule I had set to myself this time, I pre-ordered Pixel 5 without having read any review.
