HarmonyOS 2.0 will be available on the Mate 40 phones first, then P40 and Mate 30

05 October 2020
The time of availability depends on the chipset - new, premium chips get first dibs, followed by older and mid-range chips.

Can't wait to have Huawei OS.
It would be exciting to see Huawei vs. Google.
It would be an exciting talk too.

    I wonder....
    will it be....
"I use/tried HarmonyOS since they release to the public. I was surprised that this OS beating Google".

I wonder if HMS-powered Huawei smartphones with Mediatek chipsets will be eligible for HarmonyOS 2.0 update.

i dont trust this OS since huawei is controlled by CCP.If you say google, its a private enterprise.

Anonymous, 05 Oct 2020who wants to spend their hard earn money hundreds of dollar... moredunno really, but you can't really judge when you definitely haven't tried it yet. I haven't either, but who knows how many apps have come to the stores you can get on a Huawei?

the hardware they make is excellent and the cameras are always one of, if not the best. you don't need to be so closed minded.

the iPhone was a new smartphone at one point, so was Android. there's already a market in China anyway, if you want to buy it as well you can. not everyone uses Google.

This will be as big a cluster fudge as when Dell, HP and the likes tried to sell Linux laptops in mainstream stores.
100% return rate by users realising their usual apps are missing.

So that'll be by the. End of 2020

I will for sure hope for a Mate 40X, but don't believe in it, then I'll buy a Mate 40 pro instead, i live in Denmark and i'm tired of US Google crappie stuff, the market need refreshing.

Think on, many people don't want to support the US trade ban, they want instead to support Huawei to.

I read about the coming Harmony OS, when it will be released and up and running, Huawei will in parallel release EMUI 11 - a version of its mobile phone user interface based on Android 11, so users have 2 OS they can shift between.
And does people want to use the EMUI 11, all users can easily download the apps and Google scam they want, as they can today, with the Petal search app, so I really don't see how this can go wrong.
And slowly, maybe even fast, will other Chinese mobile brands support it to and so on... Remember if they can survive in China and no doubt the will as no. 1 smartphone seller and no. 2 worldwide, they have the time to wait to get customers all over the world.
This is not Windows, Samsung or Nokia or what ever, this is a Chinese brand with a population beats them all in numbers.

So even what you and i like to happen, it will for sure happens

who wants to spend their hard earn money hundreds of dollars for a smartphone with new and unmatured os today, it's a joke or maybe send a free phone to try out first.

Rebirth Mars, 05 Oct 2020P30 pro will remain in the 10.1Nope. The P30 series are from 2019 so they will have its support for updates finished on 2021 and then it will stop on EMUI 11. Then maybe Huawei can consider and allow these models with Kirin 980 and GMS to update from EMUI 11 to HarmonyOS 2.0 or another version of it.

Alando, 05 Oct 2020So that means those of us using the mediatek chipsets would... moreMaybe it will be Kirin at the beggining because it's their own CPU and it's easier and later I am sure they will support Mediatek also, I don't think Huawei will let their own devices die especially when they are in this very bad situation.

Can't wait to receive this OS on my Mate Pad Pro and I am really looking forward to Mate 40 when it comes later this year. Maybe they will update my GT2 watch to Harmony OS also.

So that means those of us using the mediatek chipsets would be left out??
If this should be the case then huawei will disappoint and hurt a lot customers.
Praying it shouldn't be so 🙏
