08 October 2020
It is supposed to get thinner in 2021 but that’s pretty much it.

It is so well integrated. It can populate login details with just a look instead of scanning a fingerprint. All my banking apps are supported.

Apples implementation is quite cool. Like how your messages from lock screen will unhide with just a glance.

Android OEMs and even the Pixel failed miserably in replicating it.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2020Those who complain do notice it everytime and it is annoying.LMAO.. WRONG those who complains have never used an iPhone.

Passive biometrics is the future. Face ID is so convenient.

It even encouraged fandroids to use their unsecured face unlock feature more thinking it serves the same purpose.

Ok so Apple doesn't like the tear-drop notch or the punchhole solutions, so they stick to the fat notch regardless that in 2020-21 it is ridiculously outdated? Charge over $1k for your premium phones, but for Hell's sake, can't they find a solution other than stalling 3 years behind the rest of the market?

You clearly not understand why Face ID so popular and liked by majority because you don't use it. It's not about unlocking your phone, it's lot more than that in everyday use. When i open my bank app i just open it without need to press the scanner and same with apps which are locked with face ID.

[deleted post]Their hate has increased so much since the iPhone X launched, because there truly isn't anything left that Android devices can one-up on iPhones. We got the OLED, edge to edge screen, bigger battery. All they have now is the notch. I think they'll drink bleach once Apple reduces the notch to current Android levels lol

I believe that Iphone users are people that can't really understand a phone in term of processor, power and performance. They are just like, a phone for call, social media and camera. (That technically what's a phone use) They don't really understand the technical aspect of it.

Face ID is very inconvenient in quite a lot of situations. I don't know why Apple is stick to this controversial feature. And impracticality of this feature is one of the main reasons why some people stay away of iPhone. Once Face ID is gone - notch will be gone too. Even side mounted fingerprint scanner is much more practical solution (and much more cheap too).

Well, that's like the trade mark of apple. And also the placement of their back camera.

Just as a reminder: All the iPhone 12 leaks were fake and didn't materialize when iPhone 11 Pro was launching...
GSMArena was putting up news that "iPhone 12" will be more interesting and will have no notch + a bunch of other features - ALL of what GSMArena was publishing about iPhone 12, didn't materialize.

Weird move to rely totally on Face ID in 2020, but I get them sticking to the notch. They seem to want to make as few screen changes as possible so they can more readily implement a new iOS to a larger number of devices. Android might be far more nimble with screen designs but those variations do come at a cost.

It may last longer. Maybe 5-10 years since they reuse iphone design for 10 years before they change it on 10th anniversary .
