For those who asking Android 10 for Nokia 8 is such a troll. Lol
Nokia 8 was released on 2017 and it already got 2 years update to Android 9.
Why oh why..

    "Better late than never"

Given how A10 update wrecked Sirocco, I'd honestly prefer "never".

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2020Nope. Samsung and Xiaomi are not doing better job. I have 2... moreOfc it depends on models too. Flagships and really popular midranges tend to get the update first. If we're talking abt budget phones, it's kinda obvious Samsung and Xiaomi will trail behind Nokia, since it's stock Android and lesser changes to implement, but there's some exceptions like the Mi A2/Lite, budget phones from Xiaomi that got Android 10 like more than half a year ago, and they're all part of Android One.
Using a Xiaomi flagship, Mi 9, and it only took 2 months to receive the new Android 10, rather fast, whereas Samsung took like 4 months for their flagship. Tbh I was expecting Nokia to be way faster than them in rolling out Android updates for their flagships, midrangers and budget phones since they're part of the Android One program and have lesser devices to manage.

If India is part of the first wave and they only get the update around the 29th does this mean the second wave is going to wait longer than that. I'm in South Africa and I'm wondering what this means for me 🤔

Binkre, 09 Oct 2020I don't understanding thing. Why is android one saying... moreIf they would have offer more then 3 years support for all their devices, they would have been Brankrupt by now. No Android Smartphone OEM will be able to give you that much support besides apple, but only if they stuff you with ads and tracking, of course here i exclude Chinaware as they already stuff you with everything. Apple can do it because they do not sell just n expensive device. With it they sell services, and that is what brings them tones of money. While android is another world and no manufacturer can make money out of it, the oem's make money out of just selling devices, and that is also for hMD not much to play with in comparison with the forced so called Giants.

I don't understanding thing. Why is android one saying that you get at least two years of android updates when it really means that you get two versions. In my phone Nokia 7.1 nokia did first update after month, and second after year. Now two years mark passes at the end of October and Nokia thinks that it fulfilled it obligations and have no need to give android 11 to Nokia 7.1.

It's like streaming platform marketing that you will get every major new movie on their platform for two years, then stop updating their platform after first two movies come out... I consider it a lie.

Why they have dumped Nokia 8? It was a capable hardware to get atleast Android10. Somebody tell these Nokia guys.

Ah yes, so much talk for Android One and their speedy updates. Nokia needs to release lesser models, there's just way too many for them to handle the updates, even Samsung and Xiaomi are doing a better job.

Nokia must remove points option from its brand, like nokia 2.1, 3.2, 5.1😂 worst name options, it should bring names like nokia s1,s2,s3,... A,b,c etc

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2020Considering it is Android One it is rather slow of Nokia th... moreThey made waaay too many models from the start, now they're facing the maintenance burden of doing so.

Nokia, please stop making new 1,3,4,5,6,7,8 phone models every year or so, you really don't need that much segmentation and it just makes updating all your devices over the years a huge amount of work. Either that or figure out a way to speed up your update process as it's pretty embarrassing to be putting out Android 10 on a stock android phone with Android 11 just coming out now.

On the bright side, at least Nokia is keeping their promise of supporting their phones for as long as they said they would, I respect them for that and wish that all manufacturers did the same.
