And comes very close in the CPU tests - it's faster than a Note20 Ultra 5G. The part that is not clear yet is which phones this is.

There should always be alternatives for everything including SOCs. If the performance difference is minor, it doesn't really matter which one is superior. Current gen processors are already way too powerful. Btw most people who pay top dollars for a flagship don't pay for the sake of chipset, its the overall device that matter.

                          Maybe we can see this chip in Samsung Galaxy A72 (And A52)
                          All that matters is that Exynos is getting better and better
                          It even beat ROG Phone 3 in the final score
                          Mid-range phones are getting a lot more serious this year (2021)

                              They're the true flagship 5nm chips, for premium segment.
                              I'm sure they can reach 750k+ scores.
                              This Exynos 1080 here, is just for High End segment.

                                Huh I expected to see, at the very least, 750k+ scores with 5nm chips. Guess we really have hit a brick wall with performance increases. Maybe it's finally time to upgrade from my SD835.

                                    midrange or high midrange chips do well with sustained performance because the balance of not to much performance squeezed out

                                    will be interesting how the exynos amd does if it keeps up promised performance

                                        Still the exynos 1080 core clock is reduced to 2.1 if it were an A78 with 2.8Ghz + the super core would be the pareo for the Snapdragon 875
