12 October 2020
It's the most premium Pixel phone this year though it's not a flagship.

I need help: As amazon removes access to links to out-of-stock products, I cannot find the link on Amazon France or Amazon Germany. Please, someone has the out of stock links especially from Germany... I am also interested in the one from France, even if they only sell the "Just Black" version. Here I only see the links to UK and USA.

Special recycled aluminum coating? No. It's a recycled aluminum chassis, with a bio-resin coating. Which is just a fancy way of saying it's epoxy derived from plants.

Anonymous, 12 Oct 2020I hope they switch to IMX555/557 for the next pixel. It ... moreEvery year I think Google will choose a camera that captures more light per time. Every year I am wrong. Don't be surprised if they use the same sensor again next year. It was already a huge surprise that they again used the Imx 363, which suffers from dead pixels, in the Pixel 4 and Pixel 5. So a Pixel 6 with Imx 363 wouldn't be a surprise anymore.
Last year Google could use the excuse that there are no larger dual pixel sensors available, but this excuse doesn't work anymore for the Pixel 5. The Galaxy S20 uses a 39.5mm² dual pixel sensor, the Huawei P40 Pro uses a 75mm² Quad Bayer + dual pixel sensor, there's the 72mm² Samsung Gn1 Quad Bayer + dual pixel sensor and there are also several large (60mm², 41mm²) quad pixel autofocus sensors from Sony and Omnivision. Google uses a 24mm² sensor. According to the latest rumors, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will use 35mm². Of course in most cases a larger sensor is only useful, if the f number and the lens quality don't become worse.

                  USB-C to microUSB adapter dongle.

                  Surely not?

Can't wait for my 5 to be delivered on Friday.

Interested on your take on the 5G dual sim limitations. Is that hardware or software driven?

The Google was working good till pixel 4 because it had great performance, powerfull.
But now the pixel 5 is useless. Cuz snapdragon 765G is a useless processor and even snapdragon 825 is better than this processor ,But it's a good smartphone has the best cameras in all companies.
                          Wish it was more powerfull.

As the Pixel 5 uses the same sensor as the Pixel 3a, I would like to know whether there are still the same terrible artifacts. The Pixel 3a suffers from a huge amount of dead pixels. This can be seen when you zoom or when you use Night Sight (not astro mode) on a tripod and/or when you shoot in raw. I tried three different Pixel 3a, they all suffered from this issue, but with different severity. The issue can be also seen here: https://www.dpreview.com/reviews/image-comparison/fullscreen?attr18=lowlight&attr13_0=google_pixel3&attr13_1=google_pixel3&attr13_2=canon_eosm50&attr13_3=canon_eosm6ii&attr15_0=jpeg&attr15_1=jpeg&attr15_2=jpeg&attr15_3=jpeg&attr16_0=59&attr16_1=59&attr16_2=100&attr16_3=100&attr126_0=2&attr126_1=2&normalization=compare&widget=1&x=0.1102054022628451&y=0.6105586266896083
It is very distracting when you take a photo of a person (with digital zoom) and then there are white pixels in the face. I don't know any camera that suffers from this issue so extremely. A Nexus 5x never shows any dead pixels.
Either the Sony Imx 363 is a terrible sensor or Google buys defect Imx 363 for a cheaper price.

I hope they switch to IMX555/557 for the next pixel.

It has same 12.2 million pixels, but 60% larger sensor and 30% larger pixel size.
