The Victus glass made some bold claims, but a drop was all it took to shatter the front of the Note 20 Ultra, as per some early test video on YouTube, while some other video showed it as living up to the hype but all in all, whenever a company makes a claim about the glass, it's usually hard to believe

AnonD-804996, 13 Oct 2020I wonder if this Ceramic Shield has anything to do with Vic... moreeither it's a fancy schmancy name for Victus or it's some kind of "ceramic infused glass" which may turn out to be bunk and "scratches at a level 6", and we'll have no idea if it's any more shatterproof than current phones.
nevertheless I'm excited for the mini, first time I've been genuinely excited for an apple product since the 2016 SE launch.

12 Mini is interesting in many ways. It's SMOL or super compact, almost as big as the Galaxy Alpha, lighter than SE 2020, uses a standardised resolution at 1080p like the iPhone 6-8+, costs the same as iPhone 11 at launch, no price increase despite adding 5G support.

1) except Samsung, LG and Motorola, all other have most of their sales in Asia. Ppl there ( mainly Southeast ans East) prefer big screens.
2) smaller phone has higher R&D costs , you need to find ways to insert everything big version has. Not always possible
3) only Sony ever cared about compact flagships. They would never cut many things like Apple has done to 12 Mini. It does not have the mmWave hardware like the Pro, no 3rd camera, no ToF and battery must be bit less than 2300mAh. And there is no jack .
So if anyone here wants to see a 13,7cm version of S20 Ultra, 1 ii , P40 Pro or Mi 10 Pro, I am sorry. That is an impossible dream now.

George, 13 Oct 2020It is because of exynos.S10e is from last year.Any suggesti... morePixel 4a and Pixel 5, with a length of around 144mm. Not as compact as the iPhone 12mini, though, but still more compact than most Android phones out there.

The prices are getting ridiculous for top specification phones in android world.
Hope android OEMs will follow the fruit company "trend" again.

Apple does what andron't - android needs a compact flagship. Indeed the pixel 5 is your best bet and priced even below the mini. A Samsung S30 mini with 5,5" bezelless w/ punchhole would sell like hot butter even at 1000$ .
