Apple iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max unveiled with 5G, larger screens, improved cameras

13 October 2020
The iPhone 12 Pro mostly uses the same cam, except for a brighter lens. The Max has a larger sensor and a longer tele lens.

Sort by:

60hz with same big notch but improved bezel. They should enable 120hz at least on 12 pro max

That is why you need to choose the "portrait mode" that adds fake blur.
If you take photo without using portrait mode, there will be no blur.

I'm genuinely pleased Apple has finally launched their 5G phones. Now all the idiots who think Covid is being spread by 5G will get their new 5G iPhone and forget all about that nonsense they were talking

So apple goes even further on penny pinching their sheeps. no charger, no headphones, 60hz refresh rate, same old design thought process for several years now, that pathetic gargantuan notch.... well those who are fully vested in the apple ecosystem would perhaps continue doing so despite such a blah update. Nothing new, same old apple upto its tricks every year

If you play a 4K 10bit video on Full HD 8Bit , the image will be converted to Full HD 8bit.
Being HDR or Dolby does not make screen 10bit.
                    10bit is the gamut.

                    12 Pro Max = 6.7" 458ppi (3,56MP)
                    S20+ = 6.7" 525ppi (4,60 MP)

                    S20+ has 29,2% more pixels.

Wait in 5 years, Apple will deliberately slow this phone performance through system updates. Apple devices are not built to last.

ArmChairCritique, 13 Oct 2020To be honest, we generally end up with a few charging cable... moreEven if Apple sells you an empty box for $1100 and asks you to buy the phone separate, you will still find a way to rationalize it..
Say what you want,Apple is just penny pinching..

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2020They changed the f value to prentend it is different now. Yeah, there are new lenses on wide camera, they did not even bother using better lenses on ultrawide.

The 12 mini is over $950 here, according to official Apple prices, just because it's a small phone and somewhat of a novelty. I'm not dropping that ridiculous amount on it, not one of those to pay whatever for that little thing without even a charger or earphones, let alone any freebies, all of which I don't really care about, but $950 for a little 64 GB phone ? How do you justify that ? Big nope from me. Outside the US Apple just rips off people with as much as 30% over the announced prices

And, iPhone 12 pro series has a quad HD display.

the average Joe consumer buying a phone because they maybe simply like the colour, the design or the phone is simply the right price for them, many won't care about all these things many would just regard as a number, and only a nunber...

For many users a 120Hz capable display won't matter nor be on there radar let alone know what it is, the experience is what many will feel when using the phone, but even then 90Hz display offer a boost from 60Hz, the experience to some of using a 90Hz display can be felt also even if again you aren't somebody who know technically for a Refresh Rate, 90Hz has the advantage of making a screen feel smoother that 60Hz but with of course drawing alittle less power.

It's Only tech heads and those who concern theselves with this that bother about such things.

If you look at the amount of people who criticised those who bought the iPhone 11 with its 326ppi LCD display and thought that was poor, chances are the ones who do the criticising are simply not broadly minded, the iPhone sold in the millions..

Anonymous, 13 Oct 2020Perhaps, but do keep in mind for those who have an older iP... moreYes, that is, however, only true for old iPhone users. People using older Android devices mostly have USB-C to USB-A cables or, like me, MicroUSB to USB-A cables. USB-C powerbricks are sold with newer Androids (Samsungs S10 line from 2019 still used USB-A powerbricks), but most of those people probably don't need to upgrade to the newest iPhone.
Either way, it's just a way for Apple to increase their margin.
