I don't know why you want to downplay others by comparing to older devices.
By that comparsion Android still supports 32 bit instructions and ARM Cores still contains 32 bit space for Android, all Apps android apps still are 32 and 64 bit apps and still run through emulation unlike Apple which run natively.
So it's remarkable for Android chips that the are so close to Apple despite running on Ancient OS with Java underpinnings and still screwed by 32 bit support.
So yeah when Android goes 64 bit only, ARM is going 64 bit only in 2023 and All apps will be 64 bit only in 2023.
That will give Android a combined perfomance boost upto 60% over current gen devices in the near future simply by dropping 32 bit support, an advantage that Apple has enjoyed since 2017

So what's the point even to mass produce the A14 Chip for the iPhone if you need to limit it to last gen specs.
Not that ultra fans wouldn't mind as the ecosystem still rocks and compensates everything.
This is the same reason i won't go for Samsung flagships as i know i pay more for less in Europ as i get the inferior Exynos. But again the ultrafans don't care, it's the latest and greater no matter how much womit they put inside.
LOL as long it has an IP rating it gold for some users, nothing else seem to matter.
