If my cousins ask for this, the relatively low price difference is the reason I'd simply refuse.

                I already preordered it in America..
                By the time it releases in India I'll be in America lol..

Diff is ~140 not 2x l... moreYes I was surprised too, to see some say it's double the price, which obviously isn't, and also console sales there being a lot lower than US, it's required for Sony to have the price to be on a little higher side to be profitable, as a lot of people still buy from brick and mortar stores so middlemen commissions probably add up as well, and you're welcome :)

                            People complaining about the price must realize that US pricing most likely does not include tax, so in that case, $499 is not the final amount they're paying, whereas INR 49990 includes tax so the difference isn't that high

                                      My ~4000 USD 3D rendering workstation that was built using a mix of parts bought and brought from the US with some sourced locally would have costed upwards of 6500 USD if I was forced to purchase all of the parts locally.

                                      If you think that VAT and sales taxes in the US and EU are a pain, wait till you see what Indians pay for everything and what we really get in return for the astronomical tax rates on nearly everything that's not used as a voting ploy.

                                      (ANS: we get in return nothing but corrupt regimes, social unrest, economy in the gutters...everything that shows the failure of a democracy in real time effect).
