Well it'll be all or nothing i guess since all 2011 xperia devices wheather small or big share same horsepower with same ram,rom n cpu(except arc s with minor improvement over arc with 1.4 ghz cpu).
So if the flagship arc s/arc gets it so should the budget mini/mini pro.but it all depends on sony.

J. Carmichael, 01 Aug 2012So true... How can anyone still trust sony? Announcing ... moreYou can't blame Sony for that... Blame Google for they release ICS in selected hardwares, and let the phone manufacturers do their job to align with ICS... Windows still the best OS out there, no matter what your hardware is (ASUS, MSI, etc..) still they can use Windows... We'll hope Windows will give give more good things for upcoming WP8.. Sony at least admitted that they can't upgrade Xperia Play to ICS, for they recommend to use XPeRIa PLAY where it was optimized and that is Gingerbread.. Still you can upgrade ICS for XperIA play, but a lot of incompatibilities may happen to you phone, especially game apps... At least, sony upgraded most of their XPERIA 2011 line up.. not like Samsung where selected models can only run ICS..

After going through all the posts, I can only say that sony is the only company that delivers updates on time. I bought my xperia ray in February and as soon as I turned it on I got a minor gingerbread update. By end of April my phone was running icecreamsandwich and I admit it was laggy but then last month I got the 4.0.4 update. And it works great, just a bit of lag with the dialer. I can't complain because I previously had the Samsung galaxy sl and I had to sell it because it was running froyo for the 7 months that I had it and there was never a gingerbread update in my country. So you can clearly understand my love for Sony and their products. Great work team Sony and I hope to run jelly bean on my xperia ray by the end of this year. P.s all my pals with phones with similar processors or higher are still stuck on gingerbread i.e. Galaxy s2 HTC sensation xe, xl, lg optimus black and 2x. The list goes on and on, and im the one with the tiny phone running ice cream sandwich. Thank you sony for the bragging rights. Cheers team Sony, Phil - Nairobi, Kenya

They said that those 2011 xperia won't get jb update, now they say it will get the update.
Just like HTC... Should we trust them? No. Until the real releases come, we can't.

Well, I have had a very good support from Sony on my Arc since day 1 and had a lot of updates (yes they take a while but they always come) but I do have to say I got a bit disappointed with ICS: it is unstable. And I don't think that has to do with cpu or phone resources.
Phone runs smoothly and very fast with ICS and then suddenly crashes for no reason or does something completely stupid and unpredictable like asking for the sim's PIN at the middle of some app so I think Sony better give it JB as it must be a streamlined version of ICS and it must run smoother and with less bugs.
Don't think the hardware can't pull it out because JB is said to be lighter and faster than ICS so if it can handle ICS it must surely run JB as well.
