26 October 2020
This would be vivo's second attempt to reinvent its Android customization, but not much is known about it so far.

Can't unlock the bootloader and doesn't release the kernel source = same shit

Why they name it with OS if this is just custom UI ?

I have the vivo iqoo Z1 and it's got really terrific specs and hardware. 5g, dual sim, 44w charging, good battery life, 144hz refresh rate, top of the line mediatek 1000 CPU. The hardware is superb. The software is truly dreadful. The worst I have seen. I have used umidigi, ulefone, huawei, samsung, apple, xiaomi, redmi. The os on this phone is just garbage. It's slow, full of chinese preloaded apps you can't remove, ads as well. The layout is clunky and awkward. I bought it for three hundred. I'd sell for 150. I can't stand it now.

Android Authority, 27 Oct 2020Still doesn't answer my question? Why would they copy ... moreAll Chinese products are copycat. They just add a few tweaks and bloatware to make the OS unique. One UI is one of the best UIs in the market undoubtedly. Vivo just chose to copy it. That's the only reason. For example, why do you prefer Burger King or McDonalds? I am sure most people will agree that both are great. But at the same time, most people have a personal preference as well. Most Chinese UIs copy iOS. Vivo just went unique.

Android Authority, 27 Oct 2020Why would they copy OneUi? Because they want to flood the market where Huawei is in freefall because of the US Ban. They could profit A LOT and gain user base ... Despite trasjing other commitment and maybe that's because Pei left OP!

And does Vivo use Google services ? or it's own version ?

I am only asking because I have never had to even touched a Vivo, they don't sell them in my local store, mainly Apple, Samsung, Nokia, Sony, Moto

why arent they just update regularly their stuff... stupid renaming games

I only hope that it must near stock android UI, Just like oxygen OS. Or simply they switch to oxygen os itll be win-win situation for both consumers & Vivo.

Good move, funtouch sounds naff and inappropriate

Hm, maybe Vivio is trying to enter the western markets and impress western consumers.

I have a suspicion that it will very much like iOS and a bit like OneUI but mostly iOS.

But they've pretty bad reputation in providing updates. Most of the Vivo phones always stuck with older android version for years compare to compitition. Hope this will change with new UI. As their newly released V20 one of the only devices comes with Android 11 out of the box. I always find Vivo devices so attractive v20 or x50 series look stunning but they always bring weaker hardware n bad software.. can't live with both. Hope this will change for good.

Do not make it another iOS copy.
Funtouch was the worst android skin.
