Google Pixel 5's SD765G chipset is a serious underperformer

I doubt most Pixel 5 users will notice the nerfed GPU performance but that is SERIOUSLY bad. They cut almost half of it, making it on par with Adreno 616 in Snapdragon 710. Battery life and temperature still remains consistent with other devices (source: Youtube) so there's no reason to do it on a midrange chipset when they hardly throttle unlike flagship chipsets. Or maybe it only performs as such in benchmarks? If not, paying $700 for this...meh.

      So this is the "improved" battery performance pixel 5 have huh? That and the downgrade from 800 series SoC is kinda deceiving especially for non-techie customers.

        Instead of use downclocked soc, they should put proper 5000mah battery. Customers are deceived here. No a single word about that from google. Rly unprofessional approach.

          Downclocking the CPU like this should not be allowed. The user should decide how far they wish to push the device. This is supposed to be a premium device.

              There are 765 and 765G.
              The 765G is the most popular.
              Bit higher clock for cpu and gpu.

                Is the phone snappy? Does it perform well in the OS and in apps? If yes, I don't give a rats ass about benchmarks. If they can achieve the same usability with a lower powered chipset thats a bonus in my book. Its called efficiency

                  Even MKBHD pointed out such issue in pixel 4a and said it was weird. I think it's the attempt to save battery of behalf of performance on all models.

                    Can't you use apps like Aida64 or Cpu-Z to detect whether the cpu or gpu has been downclocked?
