03 August, 2012
Sony's naming scheme doesn't become any clearer - T succeeds S, but what about the U?

AnonD-55045, 04 Aug 2012Agreed. This body seems much more fragile than S2's body. I... moreSorry but otterbox would not save your S3 from cracking as it happens without any dropping or damage to the phone. It's a manufacturing defect that happens to the blue version mostly. You will also have to pay for the repair as Samsung do not accept liability. I have gone back to using my Xperia S. Bottom of the class for the S3 and no way to treat customers!

AnonD-55045, 04 Aug 2012My bad. I didn't know the Xperia line had zero shutter lag.... moreYou really had no idea do you? Xps can run floating video player, hands detection for music player, even samsung water drop effect and zero shutter lag, burst capture with no lagging. And its just using 1.5 duo core s3 outdated processor only. By far xperia s still can keep up with what galaxy s3 had to offer. But do samsung can capture image whithin 2 second from sleep mode with that huge power inside? Can galaxy acess from one short recorded music to reach the info from all source in one click? Even samsung user download sony music track id and 3rd party apps to play playstation games and to get music info and also use ps3 console to play more advance games. You may mention about samsung chip inside our device but hey... Look samsung used more source to.excess our entertainment.

Anonymous-mya**, 04 Aug 2012Mr . Anonymous , brightness is useful only for the sake of ... moreThe extra brightness inside.xps makes it more appealing when you are in open sky but samsung leaked with that knowledge. Amoled already proven are the most over saturate screen in mixing color and will making you think thats the real as it can be which is not. Bravia engine makes the the image color more deep and blend well. Its like a kodak image processor to do printing that make the color more warm and the result will be not a flat image. The contrass from bravia engine makes the dark scene more eyes pleasing then amoled which is it will be to dark ( black are the best friends for amoled ) The bravia engine works like samsung dynamic mode. So its not a total fake just made up to gain people attention.

                      i'm desperate.

Good day! I really am a big fan of your site. I even linked it to my facebook page to ensure i get to know first if there is any new news. It's useful entertainment for me. I am not a tech-savvy guy but i am interested in gadgets especially phones.
But i am to bother you with a problem, if this is a prblem at all. My girlfriend has a samsung galaxy s3, white, no upgrades nor changes made on it, fairly new, just bought it a month ago.
Problem is, her phone mixes up messages. I mean, when i send her a message, her phone would cut the sms in haf and put in part of the old message she received days ago, which was even already deleted. Take this, i sent her:

'I may not be able to join you for lunch today. I'm still waiting for HR to call me for the exit interview. Will you wait for me for another hour? Please? I miss you..''

and she received it this way:

'I may not be able to join you for lunch today. I'm still waiting for HR to call me for the exit interview. ??! I sleep with my boss for just one night? I'm not being loved at all!

The question marks and the last two sentences were part of my message 3 days ago when we were not in good terms. We almost broke up because of that. I checked her phone and we found out it's been happening with the
long messages. Mixed up with the old ones. At least half's gone. Others sounds funny. But it's very consistent and annoying. I checked the web and we found out a lot of people using android have the same problem. We already cleared everything, turned the phone but still. I assumed it's not because of the carrier. We have the same carrier in the philippines. And it only happens to her phone, an android. I did not try calling samsung yet.
God. I hope you'll be able to help me guys.
                      Thank you!

I dropped the S2 a handful 4 times before actually getting a case (an Otterbox Commuter, I'm not very careful) and it didn't suffer a single scratch. But over the web I've heard of cracked body pieces on the S3. It's sad to see a flagship going back in this aspect. Sure you can always get an Otterbox Defender (or another brand) case, but you shouldn't have to do it.

Have you seen benchmarks and performance for the Exynos 5250? The Dual Krait pales in comparison. Sure the Quad Kraits will outdo the Exynos 5250 with a Mali T-604 GPU.
But not even 4 Kraits with an Adreno 320 GPU will be able to defeat an Exynos 5 Quad (5450) with a Mali t-654 GPU. Krait architecture is in the spotlight, but it's just a matter of little time before other brands A15 chips come out (next gen Tegras and OMAPS too).

But then it's only a feature. One of many. I don't see how mistakenly naming it "messes it all up" or invalidates the rest of my points. If its not due to horsepower that S3 can mantain pop up play windows and live thumbnails, then it's just that Samsung's got better developers than Sony.

And even when capable to manage a zero shutter lag, a Snapdragon S3 is pretty lame for today's standards dude.

Anonymous , brightness is useful only for the sake of sunlight legibility , and only nokia pureview beats S3 in that. Also contrast is AWESOME in S3. Pentile nature is not noticeable due to the 310ppi pixel density. The bravia engine is just a moniker for fooling gullible people like you , it actually reduces sharpness while viewing photos having a wide array of colours. Viewing angles are terrible in any SE display. I could go on but I made my point.
