Sony's naming scheme doesn't become any clearer - T succeeds S, but what about the U?

AnonD-55045, 03 Aug 2012Are you taking your medicine? SGS3 is more fluid than the X... moreDude, you were going so nicely, almost had me going there for a while and then you mess it all up!
Zero shutter lag? Do you have any idea what that is? Of course you don't or you would know that even my Arc as zero shutter lag, same for XperiaS and XperiaT and I think all Xperia range.
Samsung by the other hand only got there at SGSIII and it as nothing to do with hardware and computing power but on how you design the camera itself.
May I remind you an S4 (and xperia S is S3, not S4 krait) can match a quad core chipset in almost any benchmark?
seems to me this is a great handset and if I didn't bought my Arc a bit more than a year ago I would go for this one.

It has the same screen, processor, amount of ram, gpu, etc than the Xperia S, it´s the same phone with a (not so much) better camera!! At least They should give it a quad core processor and better gpu

AnonD-55045, 03 Aug 2012Are you taking your medicine? SGS3 is more fluid than the X... more1. 4 cores (not the best feature).
                      2. Screen size and tech (believe it or not, a lot of people like AMOLED better than the Bravia engine).
                      3. Latest OS version (and you are sure to get at least Key Lime Pie and [Lollipop???] when they come out).
                      4. Revamped GPU.
                      5. SOFTWARE and UI related FEATURES. This is the key selling point. The one. Direct call, pop up play, live thumbnails, zero shutter lag, smart stay anyone? Among many others. (And these features are possible thanks to the Exynos 4412 CPU and overclocked Mali 400 GPU horsepower).

1: I agree but very handy if the OS support that.
2: Amoled screen is a hype by sell-mans who get paid by Samsung. Second the Bravia engine has way more live colors and sharpness than overhyped (fake oled) Amoled screens from Samsung.
3: Sony does, you are going to ignore that? Sony has always get fluid on Android OS.
4: Said nothing a little bit better but you will not notice that in real live.
5 also the Dual core 1.5 Ghz has more support from the OS and aplications has also more open for the Dual core.

And i also think that Adreno 220 has little bit more horsepower than the Mali400MP.

So, the only what SGS3 has advance is the Quad core CPU power what also not yet support for OS.

And never you hear that Xperia S has all hardware out match SGS3 except the CPU, only Sammie lovers brag about it.

ahmed, 03 Aug 2012are you sure xpiera s butter than s3 ???? you need wake... moreI said that SGS3 miss a better camera/screen/sound and design&build quality if we compare with the Xperia S.

Second i also said that Quad core are not 100% out of OS.
Third,we all know that SGS3 has advance over the Xperia S if we talk about CPU nothing more than that.

I also thing that Mali400 is not powerful as the Adreno 220 GPU that remain we will see.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2012Yup.. Xperia s more fluid then galaxy s3. That for sure. Ga... moreAre you taking your medicine? SGS3 is more fluid than the Xperia S, I've seen them working side by side and the Xperia S cannot handle the work load a SGS3 is capable of taking. And SGS3's key selling points are:
                              1. 4 cores (not the best feature).
                              2. Screen size and tech (believe it or not, a lot of people like AMOLED better than the Bravia engine).
                              3. Latest OS version (and you are sure to get at least Key Lime Pie and [Lollipop???] when they come out).
                              4. Revamped GPU.

On a side note, Sony plays cheap with the CPU to pay the expensive design/materials.

Anonymous, 03 Aug 2012People like you are the biggest fail in human history with ... moreDid you say Android is not support quad-core but does support dual-core? You can't be more dumb. It's only the matter if the OS support multi-core or not. Whatever it's dual-core, quad-core, 8-core, 16-core, 32-core, if the OS support multi-core then yes.

As far as I can remember, iOS and Android were supported multi-core since age ago.

The reason dual-core S4 does better than most quad-core today is another story entirely, not relate to OS. Even S4 will have quad-core soon.

Sony really should think of a naming convention for their phone models. Not only will it aid consumers in differentiating between models, it might also help them in marketing their phones.
