Soon most of the G suite will be freemium. More reason why Huawei’s HarmonyOS and Harmony ecosystem are so important

AnonD-966083, 07 Nov 2020Ofc it is - it's Google for christ sake. Those greedy ... moreGreedy?! Do you work for free? Google Photos is an excellent service for a very competitive price. And I love the editing features. I don't like that Google is an advertising monopoly and hope the antitrust actions make the market space better, but Google's photography suite and computational photography is really great.

It is a nice extra for those who pay Google cloud, but I am probably never going to use it - they are renting those "AI smarts" after all.
It would be much nicer if they would be able to offer their VPN and other services in my country.
But I would not fear all that much for those who things fake bokeh would make their photos better - we already have vanced versions of Youtube and Music ... I guess Photos might be next.

I guess is wishful thinking hoping for a true and reliable alternative to all google services in the future, right?

For all the complainers in the comments:

Make your own services like these and put them for free. Will see how long you will last.

If history stands for something, it looks like they are considering putting Snapseed on EOL soon.

And this nickle and dime micro-transaction shitck might be coming to everything branded google soon. After killing the music app, I fully expect the replacement to start pushing out such paywall barriers for playing FLAC, some kinds of wireless / stereo options or any of the new upcoming A/V codec media.

Google is in the mood to have its cake and eat it too in this pandemic era. Shame on them.

Worst part isn't that certain features will be behind a paywall.
Worst part is that Google has access to all your personal photos through this app.

There will be no unnecessary Google apps spying on my phone.
3rd party apps with analytics and spying disabled FTW.

Where are those people now? who swear by Stock Android?

                        Post pandemic Google has -
                        Doubled the ads on YT
Increased commission to 30 % on play store purchases
                        And now such paid services
                        This is called pure opportunist.

Nice! Even so, I hope they won't abandon the Snapseed in the future.
