In the previous comments you didn't know that iPhone users can transfer files with cheap lightning OTG cables and you also made false statements about encryption.
And you also still don't understand why cloud storage can be really useful no matter how much physical storage you use, all of that storage will be exposed to unexpected events from factory defects, human error and disasters whether caused by humans or nature and cloud storage gives us more protection incase that happens.
Me invested in cheap cards? Do you think 128GB Lexar Professional 2000x UHS-II Card and 128GB Sony SF-G Series TOUGH caeds that i use for the cameras is my studio is cheap?
I also use 128GB Lexar V60 microSD for my Xperia 5 II.
Even with the previous explanation you still don't know that Lightning OTG flash drive like iXpand has a male USB A connector that you can use to connect on any devices with female USB A port OMG how s+up!d you can be?
If you want to connect to the multiple devices that you mention you'll need at least 2 different cable because the OTG cable only has female USB A connector that allows it to connect to a device like flash drive.
But if you want to connect you phone to external drives or any device with female port you'll need data/charging cable.
iPhone users can do the same thing you mention they just need a cheap charging cable or OTG cable because almost every single lightning cable comes with female or male usb connector.
Let me show you the differences between your solution and mine for those who use a phone without sd card slot.
For your solution anyone need to carry around OTG cable and external storage like flash drive.
My solution just bring a OTG flash drive there's no need for another extra cable, dongle or adapter.
OTG flash drive available with lightning, microUSB or USB C connector most of them also has male USB A connector so you can connect it to any device with female connector.

All big tech companies are evil. Don't trust any of them. Of course, Google already has too much info about us and is acting like Big Brother no different than Apple, Amazon, and Facebook. We got Twitter censoring Republicans. We got YouTube owned by Google deleting our comments.
They're watching us and then trying to sway how we think to a direction that makes them rich. Google was my favorite before but now I just stick to Sony and Nike products. And those two are evil especially the latter. I only like them for their PlayStations and Air Jordans.

Curiously Germany, England and France, which is where it is sold, are very much allied with the USA. I don't care about politics and I don't want this to be taken as politics comentary, of course, but I think it's a shame that a country like Spain, which is where the most phones are sold in Europe and has always bought the Pixels, is discriminated against in this way. Or other like Italy, Belgium... Many. It's an excuse about 5G. In Spain people are buying a lot of 5G phones, I don't know why we have to settle for just 4A.

I have grown to hate Google and it has more to do with politics. Big tech are in on the cheating of the 2020 US election, the censorship, misinformation, and their globalist views with their ties to China.
I only buy Pixels because I prefer Android. But I don't like any big tech companies anymore.

No need for such rubbish. Just get a NAS, backup when at home, everything nice and non duplicated. Massive storage of 10TB drives. Does not matter you use iPhone or Android, slot or no slots. No need to care about format .. NTFS , AFP, ExFat, Fat32..

Invest in a Synology Diskstation, or any NAS. Then the data is safe at home, viewable by any device you have and no duplicates.

Yeah, Google like any other company wants only profit. But, this current problem with Google Photos is easily solvable by getting a microsd card. I use microsd cards since my first smartphones. The only thing I updated was the capacity of them. I had 16GB, then 32GB. Now I have 128GB. All my photos, music, personal files are on my microsd card. I do not keep anything on my phone internal storage.
I don't understand why people are so triggered by this now.

Now don't tell me all those different type of physical storages will fail simultaneously.
Long term storage is not safe on any storage medium. There are no guarantees.
I personally refresh storage devices (hdd, ssd) every 3 years to avoid data loss despite them having 5+ year warranty.
On smartphones, one can use SD card for easy access and have a backup of that data on physical drive back home. No downloading, uploading needed. Instant access everytime.
I wouldn't trust my info on the cloud as we have seen with cloud hacks and leaks.
The fact that you hate SD cards so much, it's clear that you invested in cheap cards and paid the price for it. Keep putting more your data in the hands of Google. Good luck!
Carry an OTG flash drive specifically designed to connect to Apple devices with lightning.
Lol and what If I want to connect that flash drive to anything other than iPhone??
All I need to carry is a simple cable and I can connect to trillion other devices if I want..hdd, ssd, flash drive, keyboard, mouse, etc.
Never downgrading to handicapped experience of iOS and its connectivity.
