Don't like where OnePlus is going - the preinstalled FB crap on the 8 was the dealbreaker. Shame.

Android doesn't need any additional features compared to iOS. Android smartphones are as well built as their Apple counterparts. And especially regarding security updates, they will be widely supported by Google starting with Android 11, with new versions continuously offered as well as other apps - a big difference with the iOS system. It will therefore be possible to keep your Android smartphone for three or four years in complete security, before the battery runs out or the hardware is outdated. All this for a lower price than Apple.

                  Never Settle!
                  Seems like oneplus finally Settled.

I bought my first OnePlus, the expensive OnePlus Nord, not the n10 or n100, and I felt like I had made a good choice. I loved the way oxygen os was, and the support it had, for me it was worth sacrificing some performance at this pricepoint. But now, I'm just disappointed. This will probably be my last android phone. I've use Xiaomi, Samsung, OnePlus and all the orthers have gotten atleast 2 major updates. This is a shitty move OnePlus, shame on you. At this point, android is killing android faster than Apple is. And to think I was so fond of android for everything. It's just sad at this point.

I have iPad that I can no longer even install any new apps or update of existing ones because the API changes Apple made that just renders old device without new firmware useless.

Than again, Apple software do run more fluidly... Guess it balances out and users will have to choose - pro longed general use (Android) or fluid device till whenever Apple declares EOL.

The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things current iPhone can't.

iOS 14 finally got an app drawer and widgets, Lol these are things that existed on Android a decade back.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

I just bought my first OnePlus phone and surely it's the last one. Will not recommend OnePlus to anyone. Even cheap phones from MI or redmi get more updates than this.

For all the crap I can give Apple for their insanely high prices and faux heart-warming marketing speak, my old trusty first-gen iPhone SE from 2016 is running fine on iOS 14.2 - 14.0 made the phone a little laggy but I thought "hey this phone is old now, don't expect too much" and 14.2 is now a lot better.
Apple at least does this right, and the Android world still doesn't - plain and simple.

                                        Who cares?

The latest Android version has less features than than Android 4.4 had eons ago.

Sure, it can work with newer chipsets and cellular radios. But most of that tech isn't even available to general consumers (e.g. 5G NSA). While manufacturers keep on removing bits here and there.

In 2020/21 we pay more for our phones but can do less. Sure, the few things that still work, work faster. But doe we really need an even faster Internet on our phones than what we already have with e.g. 4G? Also I thought that LTE stood for "Long Term Evolution". I don't consider 4 or 5 years "long term" guys!!! I expected LTE to last at least 10 to 15 years. instead it's been phased out albeit slowly from 2019 onward. This is ridiculous. Should have called it 4G Short Term Evolution instead.
