Usually the support ends 1 year after they are taken off the market.
Last year you could still buy the overpriced 6s and it will probably not get IOS 15.
So you basically only get one major upgrade after purchase.

One plus has a terrible record on providing SW update for 5 Series phones over the past year!
They are forgetting who they are!

I don't see it would be so hard to update them, given that Oxygen OS is close to stock Android.

Thats why people prefer iPhones over Android ... Apple updates all their phones from iphone 7 till iphone 12 from day one of new IOS

Maybe you are referring to the A5x or A7x Samsung models. But those are not low-end models.
