iPhone meanwhile supports >= 5 years, suddenly the iPhone looks reasonably priced next to an overpriced under supported One Plus Nord.

I was looking at buying this due to the 3.5mm jack, alas no longer interested with sucky phone updates.

Xiaomi gave some of its Redmi phones and Poco phones 1-2 Android version updates and 2/3 MIUI updates which brings new features. And they all cost lesser than the Nord N10.

Nord N10 is a 5G phone that costs more than 300 EUR. There is no excuse for OnePlus to give 1 Android version update to Android 11 when it has already launched. At the very least roll it out with Android 11, not 10. If you're defending OnePlus on this, you're just a OnePlus fanboy.

Boggy-Stefy, 12 Nov 2020If you buy a 200EUR phone, just keep it for 1 year, sell it... moreYou know no one cares about the cheaper phone
But the n10 5g is for $329, not 200 (dollars)
Again it is a 5G phone built for longevity
Launching with Android 10 when all other OP new devices are running oo11 and A11
So launching a phone with an outdated version then updating it with 11 is where the problem is
And it is 5G and running the 765 processor not the 460 or 665, so what's their excuse

If you buy a 200EUR phone, just keep it for 1 year, sell it with 100EUR, put another 100EUR and get the next model. Easy. And 100EUR per year is not that much.
And you always have the latest Android.

                No matter the price point
And did you forget they launched these phones with Android 10 and not 11?
A 5G phone that will not get updated beyond Android 11

Guys, the article refers only to the latest Nord phones (N100 and N10), not the original Nord. So it's referring to the 200EUR Nord N100.
Really now, how many low-end Android phones do you know out there, that give more than 1 big software update? I doubt somebody who buys a 200EUR Android phone expects or demands 2-3 years of software support (like you will receive Android 13 on your 200EUR purchase phone). I mean, c'mon.

FrostPE, 12 Nov 2020Absolutely agree!!! That UPDATE situation on all Android ma... moreI wouldn't necessarily blame Google for it. Sure, they could force vendors with the licensing terms, but the fact is, Google releases source code for new Android versions continuously. It's the vendors who want easy way out of commitment to end users by just sacking software support as quickly as possible. And plan a next phone release that they can sell to you. With same crap support. Situation on Android is so bad it's unlikely I'll ever return to Android from iOS if things don't change. Even 1000€ Android phones only get 3 years at best which is just pathetic and I wish it would change. I like iPhone and iOS, but I don't want to be permanently stuck with it just because Android vendors are just straight up lazy and cheap. I mean, freaking iPhone 6s from 2015 received latest iOS 14.2, the very latest one that's also on brand new iPhone 12's. What Android phone from 2015 received Android 11? That's what annoys me the most. And even if this was the last update for iPhone 6s, it's a 5 years old phone and has received 5 major OS updates. I want this on Android phones. All of them!

That UPDATE situation on all Android manufecturers is dissaster, this is Google's fail, it might be part of Android, or in EULA, that all manufacturers have to provide minimal 3 mayor OS updates. I migrate form iOS (iPhone 3G) to Android, but there is minimal progress in UPDATEs since that time. Horrible, I'm fan of OnePlus, but this is not good move. R.I.P. 1+.

Goodbye Oneplus.... greed has gotten a hold of this company IMHO, little wonder Carl Pei left. First, they increase the prices dramatically for their regular flagships lineups and now so called budget to midrange in name Not price, with basically 1 major Android update....seriously??
I'd Buy a Xiaomi Poco series if you are stretched for money but you get at least 2 Major android updates and Samsung A series & the s20 FE are heaps better better and you get 3 major Android updates up to Android 13!
I'd have to get my head check if I was buying a cheapskate Oneplus product at premium pricing.
