I like how we were all told that the headphone jack was removed for a whole host of reasons including space, but samsung have found enough spare space to put a whole pen in to the phone

Hanif Fikri, 12 Nov 2020Oh i see it does support S pen but no pen slot on the phone...In 2022 the Fold 4 will get the S-pen integrated into the device.
In 2021 only the S21 Ultra will get an S-pen. The Fold 3 will not be ready for an S-pen.

When they have removed everything included in the box except the phone they will bring back the concept of the modular smartphone so that they can continue removing pieces...

Well Samsung could easily cram the S Pen onto Z Fold. The problem is on folded display itself. While the outer display could be used for writing without problem, the inner display couldn't, which means halting the functionality of S Pen in the device.

"... S21 Ultra supports S Pen" does not mean that it will pack the S Pen. The company will probably offer the stylus as a separate purchase to those interested.

i think this is a good move. there wasn't much to differentiate b/w note-ultra and s-ultra . this will streamline their sales model too .
if we can say note series was competing with iphones and at the time of launch of iphones, it probably affected galaxy note sales

It will be 2022 before Fold series gets the S-pen.

Makes sense really. Now they are focusing more on the z series, making the flagship slab phone lineup more streamlined makes more sense

Well, I think the Note 4 or Note 5 was the last Note where the differences between Note and S existed. I mean, in such a way that somebody will be more inclined to buy the Note than the S from that particular year.
So, no news here. Samsung thought of this for some years. The Note series and the S series were too similar for Samsung to keep selling both.

From now on there are only the S-series (now with S-pen) and the Fold series.
