I did a survey weeks ago about smartphones. The survey asked whether I would buy a phone that can roll. And they also showed me a picture of a concept one. But it was not an oppo, it was an LG. Keep an eye on LG because they might also show a concept like that. Or maybe if enough people are excited about a phone like that then they might show one as a concept or something.

Trust me oppo knows how to make the best screens! Owner of x2 pro since march 2020

Unlikely to ever launch. Then don't sod about with a press release then..

And that's just a concept video. It's not even a prototype. It's just pure hype and nothing else. Move along, nothing to see here. It's no better than those Magic Leap videos

Pretty sure this screen will be the same as in the Motorola or Samsung foldable phones: Soft like tissuepaper and easily ruined with a fingernail. No thanks.

Wait till they get high refresh rate, fast charging, no-notch display and all other software features of Android, all their current excuses will evaporate in thin air.

Why are you in Android thread anyway??
Not enough innovative phones to talk about in Apple section?

This is the future my friend. Rollable was always the correct form factor for expandable phones. Foldable phones have inherent design flaw. Now all they need is to perfect under screen camera and have a rubber waterproof seal when fully closed and every phone will look like this. Also they can make it the size of a foldable like the Moto and have the screen pull out fron the top.

Gauron, 17 Nov 2020Why unroll or unfold a phone to get a square-ish screen- I ... moreWell my friend then you haven't tried any foldables. Kindles yes is super affordable, but lack any other functions other than reading books. Foldables is expensive, yes for now. Sooner or later we will have iPhone priced foldables. Foldables are sure expensive and niche, and for people that can afford them for now. I myself swear to foldables or rollables phones, because it is useful even though it is heavy. I'm not trying to be mean, but i don't think you are ready for anything that is new and innovative. Your mentality is more akin to "late adopter" when everything is about to be boring again. Do people want to be stuck with the old ways that bad? No, or else we be stuck with the flip phone and 3G remember? When the price comes down or it is proven by the mases you yourself would like to be a part of it, don't lie.

Another concept of how foldable, rolling phone is no use for the end user but more fragile and harder to use for day to day....meanwhile Apple , after iPhone introduction and changing the smartphone industry, now they come with the Macs on their own chip and again making a huge leap and transforming the pc industry

Lil bro OnePlus can't wait to try big bro Oppo's new toy.

Also, expect Apple to copy this and becomes "their" innovation.

I would like to see LG and TCL rollables as well next year.

Just make the phone small already, we don't need a 7 inch rollable smartphone

Apple thinks people care about Dolby vision but that .00001% increase in smartphone video color science or HDR-like output means nothing to the vast population that is just taking home videos of their kids running around. Apple pretends "professionals" are over here creating and editing serious video content on their phones but they aren't. The moment anyone even considers taking creative video work seriously, they will buy a dedicated video or mirrorless camera and edit on their laptop/desktop. It's pointless.

No matter how great their innovative technology is I will never gonna like them idk why but maybe the way they market their products? And how consumers fell for it? Ewwww
