About time, Sony. I really miss the Compact model. That said, I wonder how the official spec is going to be. If the camera setup and sensor module remain exactly the same as its much bigger 4K screen variant, that is good enough for me. I definitely don't mind the premium midrange chipset.

Most people who are bashing Sony have never used their phones, mainly the last 1 ii and 5 ii are exceptional phones, they're just not for everybody. They're not your point and shoot smartphone cameras, you have to learn to use them efficiently in order to get the best possible results which are not possible with any other phone even with manual modes.

That + the fact that it shoots photos that are not overprocessed which is the today's norm.

This device would never cost less than 650 dollars.
Only cheap and bad component inside xperia is the Isocell cameras.

Not full of cheap/bad like chinese phones

Glad that compact phones are making a comeback, this is why I was happy that Apple released the iphone 12 mini. This trend of 17cm long phones has to stop, it gets to the point where you can't even carry around the thing in your pocket anymore.

Oh yes. A high-end mid-ranger from Xperia with Snapdragon 775, RAM 6 gb, 90 hz screen, and camera modules of Xperia 5 II would be gorgeous (even if pro camera software features are to be compromised). I only hope that it will be released in the first part of 2021 and not in late 2022.

As long they keep the flagship hardware, then no alarm.!

The plastic frame was designed to create a slight lip around the front and back glass. This protected the glass during falls meaning no case was needed. The compact size meant the glass could also withstand more force.

All for Sony bringing in a smaller form again, my last compact XZ1 was a little pocket rocket no probs at all with it in my tenure.
