I am so so damn happy that atleast thers still hope for ICS for O2X , i have the best phone amongst my friends but they sometimes mock me that it still doesnt have ICS when i try to show off.
That damn Nexus S cant even run Temple run properly but still runs on JB

It would be a shame wasting fantastic Optimus 2X just because lazy vendors refuse to update them to latest software. Lets face it, despite Optimus 2X's age, it's still a fantastic phone. IPS screen, dual core 1GHz CPU and decent GPU. Good 8mpix camera as well and 1080p video recording. 24fps but still. I mean, many of the today mid end phones don't even reach that kind of gadgetry level and they cost about the same as a new Optimus 2X. Only difference is Gingerbread vs ICS on new phones. So LG, don't be a donkey and give the users what they deserve. A proper ICS update.

bill, 13 Aug 2012the problem is that LG don't even release ICS drivers for d... moreBeing honest thats why i dont buy LG phones..I had loads of trouble back in 2003-5 with their flip fones on UK three network and two k750 type fones..I have had an LG tv that broke so took it back and the new one went faulty..I bought an LG dvd recorder with built in 320GB harddrive and it went smelling of TCP and lost all my recordings,,they offered me a brand new one and the tv tuner just kept sticking it went for repair twice and then the nardrive corrupted..

I cannot trust LG and lost trust in dvd recorders now with hardrives and resorted to just dvd recorder by Toshiba and touch wood its fine..LG make shoddy equipment with no updates or correspondance just cannot trust them..

TizenMeego Takeover, 13 Aug 2012Yeah yeah yeah thats what they all say about android makers... morethe problem is that LG don't even release ICS drivers for developers. For any devices. While Galaxy S, Defy, Neo V and another old phones already have CM10 (JB) and fully stable CM9 (ICS)!! Even other Tegra2 phones have it!

bill, 13 Aug 2012Too little too late My first and last LG Phone!Yeah yeah yeah thats what they all say about android makers.

Then when they go to a different brand and the same thing happens, it's: "This is my last (Insert Android Manufacturer "Even Google because even the vanilla android devices are fragmented now, Gnex is a prime example" here).

Just move to Samsung and wait on updates there too, or go to HTC and wait for updates there too, or how about Motorola? Well you'll have to wait on updates there too. But then there's always trusty Google. Yes ol' trusty Google, they always have their updates first right? WRONG!!! How come the Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners had to wait longer to get their update than the GSM Galaxy Nexus owners? Fragmentation.

So Either way, if you want Android, you're going to have to learn patience. No two ways around it.

if LG is clever enought, they should cooperate with the XDA community more active to let them solve the resources problem for them, they should release or at least leak out some pre alpha ICS update to let the community do the rest...but they dont.
we've asked for the hardware drivers since years, nothing happend. now ppl have to use ICS CM9 withought hardware acceleration and so on... i do like their hardware, but...do not seem to have another LG any more.

should I still hope for my LG-OB to have an official ice cream update, yes, xda is always there but in a consumer point of view, after-sale support is very vital especially when recommending to our friends regarding phones and most especially BRAND, take that LG:(

I had Optimus 2x 1 month ago and the firmware update is very poor support, then I decided to sell it and buy new Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 so I hurry to update from gb 2.3.6 to Ics 4.0.3 but when I see the features i won't happy to see my new firmware because is like gingerbread and for me the best stable firmware is Gingerbread rather than ICS. I hope jellybean is most stable and comfortable to Galaxy s2.
