Galaxy S21 unlocking options to include Bixby Voice

We're assuming Samsung would only do this to remind people that Bixby still exists.

There is 3 company I consider really bad in the smartphone industry, Samsung, Google and OnePlus, and it is only based on how they act, no specific biased or preferences other than that.
So I agree with Vlad.

    Punch hole is NOT uninterrupted display, the Galaxy S8/9 and Pixel 4/4XL do have uninterrupted display and Iris scanner and 3D facial unlock (respectively).
    So do the Oppo Find X.
    Underdisplay camera is one of the worse gimmick, it will spam/invade the market like the punch hole, don't allow for privacy and will make facial recognition less reliable, because the RAW quality is mediocre at best and rely on tons of AI processing, but facial recognition require RAW image to work.
    It was fine only if it would have been for switching to full 3D facial recognition with proper Structured Light and not ToF.

    That's why, as I often say, what we need is DIVERSITY, there isn't a single best/better feature, we need many phones that have different combinaisons of features, including ones without any biometric, other with full biometric set, some with bezel, some with punch hole, some with pop up, some with notch, etc.
    Yes, but it could have been literally thousand of time better, and no one talked about ditching it to bring back Iris Scanner or getting 3D facial recognition, it is a no brainer to have both at once, the ONLY reason Apple ditch its fingerprint scanner is because optical underdisplay FPS weren't mature yet and they wanted to go "fullscreen" and for some reasons didn't wanted to put the FPS on the back or the side, it have nothing to do with one replacing the other, exactly like airbag didn't replaced seatbelt but both together offer increased security.

        Of course there are compromises for an uninterrupted display. Who knows if Samsung can put the Camera under the display on the next Z Fold 3, maybe one day they can also bring back those sensors needed for 3D Face Unlock. So I think removing the Iris Scanner is fine.

        And business standpoint people buy phone for consumption not for "hOw dO I uNlocK" this phone. And BTW current Utrasonic Fingerprint Scanner is fast and reliable enough. Much better than bring back the Iris Scanner

          Samsung is a joke !
          They went from Iris scanning to a puny punch hole.
          They could switch to something smarter than a punch hole and get full 3D facial recognition (including Iris scanning) but they rather use voice, the easiest biometric to fake there is.
          They have an ultrasonic FPS, which should be able to do amazing fit like reading density and automatically rejecting gloves, screen protectors, water, oil/grease, check that it is a real finger by the density, check for distal phalanx, read veins patterns (at least as unique as fingerprint, combining both mean exponential security, as 1 chances out of 1 million for each to have someone else unlocking the phone result in a 1 chances out of 1 billion), allow to do continuous (periodic) authentification, scale it to the whole display and all that.
          As I am sure Qualcomm would more than happily unlock all those level of reading for Samsung.

          But no, rather than improving on their previous best face unlock method and rather than making justice to ultrasonic fingerprint scanner tech that should crush easily any optical and capacitive FPS but instead because of their poor implementation is considered super bad, they decided to literally lower the security level by doing that, because your phone security is as good as your least secure unlocking method, and 2D face unlock from a single camera because of the punch hope is already pretty bad, but this...

          That's look like a joke !
          Why do peoples buy Samsung phones ?
          Even in other sectors, like the RAM memory price scam and other bad practices they made, this brand is the best exemple of the worse a brand can become.

            Bixby & Exynos are two Samsung stuff that need to die in otherwise great phones. There's some hope for improving Exynos (maybe) but none for Bixby considering not many use voice assistants in general & how aggressively Samsung is trying to make people use it.

              Samsung, please don't waste money on Bixby and ask more bucks for the phones. Save money and offer phone at lesser price.
