Some Chinese shills are still crying here, but the fact remains that GOI did a hell of a job wiping out the Chinese software ecosystem in India. A big kudos to them.
Next target is the Chinese hardware ecosystem and the government has already started that process by debarring Chinese manufacturers from participating in the PLI scheme.
The Chinese heavily miscalculated this one.

Anonymous, 27 Nov 2020First learn about data privacy, and how it works. Indian go... moreI guess people are mature enough to understand the "risks" of data security. And can you provide a single link to any "proofs" that those apps leaked the data? CamScanner did leaked some important data, so Google took it down. After redesigning their structure and convincing Google of data security, they were back. But no. India government got no chill.
All because some soldiers were killed on the border. Although, India claims that Indian Army killed more than double the number of soldiers of PLA, still neither government, nor public seems to be in mood for de-escalation.
And Indian Government is not doing anything "good" for us. They are just imitating US Government, who did not had a "single" proof against Huawei or ByteDance, still banned it. This is called "dictation", nothing else. And I am not gonna support it.
Well, I don't care. Huawei was banned because Trump needed to save the furniture factory of "Gates" and "Windows" and some (rotten) Apple farmers. And Indian Government wants to save Indian Devs, who, except for copying China, can't do anything else.

"It's not about coolness. Some people care less about about changing themes or fonts to make their device looks unique (though the "unique" and "personalised" devices are the most common). They simply want not-so-personalized and not-so-unique device with minimalism"
>>> Nobody is forcing you to change the theme or font. One can keep the device simple and minimum. One has that flexibility on Android. Not so much on iOS.
Why would anyone use 5-6 year old outdated phone?
Technology evolves fast.
Are you telling me every iPhone user keeps it for 5-6 years? You must be out of your mind.
Your biggest assumption is that Android only works for 2-3 years which is completely false.
Android can be easily used for 5-6 years. Looks like you are still trapped in year 2012. Wake up!

They simply want not-so-personalized and not-so-unique device with minimalism, and still stand out among a bunch of other devices.
Oh. And spending spending a similar amount of money every 2-3 years on an Android is sign of intellectual?
And spending $1000 on an iPhone for 5-6 years is better than keep spending the very same amount every two-three years on a similar Android.

This is actually a very good move by the Indian government. We are not importing things or mobiles and buying them from China where they’re made. Even though Apple is American, the Chinese manufacturer gets revenue. So if we ban the imports and actually manufacture here in India. We can lower price of the item since it’s made here that means reduced taxes or no import taxes. Secondly, the company will register as an Indian company so they will have to follow the rules made by the Indian government. This provides authority and control in the hands of the govt. Thousands of people get jobs plus revenue to the economy by making the phones here. The market is also happy because the price is supposedly to be lower. This is clearly seen in how PUBG mobile Indian version is struggling to release in India because the govt wants control which it rightly deserves. Hope this helps

Aamir, 28 Nov 2020Yes bro you are right the features of iphone are now mostly... moreBro don’t know whether you have used an iPhone yet but once you use it, you will realise the performance difference when compared to an even much higher specs android device. Quality of a product too matters along with a phone or any other products configuration. Yeah I accept iPhones cost much but in the last it’s our decision whether we need to spend that money on that product or not.

Bharat, 27 Nov 2020Since the India got freedom we are lying on other shoulder ... moreAmazing display of intelligence. Well, the 20% matters when the total is 1.5 billion
First, a piece of history.
Since independence till 1991, i.e, 45 years, India was a closed economy, where only Indian brands were there. And when globalization took place, all of those "incompetent" Indian brands got bankrupt within no time. And how much development took place in all those years? Infinitesimally small
A piece of economics.
You really think India will be a "superpower" if 1 INR will become equal to 1 USD? Great. Have you even cleared your matriculation exam?
Just ask your government. They can do so in merely few hours.
