Weekly poll: what do you think of the Poco M3?

29 November 2020
The phone is surprisingly capable for a sub-€200 phone, sub-€150 even, if you got one with the Black Friday discount.

Sort by:

The 150€ price has competition from others, specially inside Poco: the X3...
You can get the X3 under 200€ and it's a way better phone 6GB ram, more powerful snap732, 120Hz lcd, better cameras, nfc for 50 more i think it's worth it.

But maybe the real competition comes from Redmi Note 9S for 150€ also you get a 720G snap, 4K recording, better ips screen and a better build overall.

The M3 needs to be 130€ or less. Then it would be killer.

Xiaomi saw a chance to put together a phone made of otherwise unsellable / outdated parts purchased for next to nothing, add the hyped poco name and sell that for cheap, what better time to sell such a phone than in the middle of a pandemic when people are beyond broke and even $200 phones a are a tough sell right now.

Who want just fast phone and doesn't care about other specs, than redmi 9 is better deal. On the other hand, m3 is better I'm everything else, except speed n

Redmi note 9 4g is batter : (more ram / ultrawide camera / batter design / less price)

Processor should be at least Helio G80, Snapdragon 662 is not enough powerful, but a decent performer... And instead of 2mp 2mp camera game, they should include 8mp ultra wide, 2 cameras are enough... Other 2mp 2mp are useless

too much going on at the Back Panel, looks like the start of a gigsaw puzzle,no thanks 😱

Excellent price for the M3. Good enough for a child's first phone.
However, for adults I would say the X3 NFC is more suitable.

Great specs but no ultrawide and when samsung ship samulead screens on there Phones this aint it.

Will you buy a Poco M3?

Yes, once there is custom ROM support for that phone, especially for ROMs with Signature Spoofing support that allows microG installation. The spec sheet is actually pretty decent for a midrange phone, but MIUI is a big NO-NO for me!

I have given up on small, light phones. My 3 year old compact phone still ticking along well. If I have to get another one, it's a toss up between the Poco M3, the X3, the Redmi Note 9S and the Samsung M51. GSMa have tested the X3 NFC, but I wonder if they'd review the X3 (non NFC) for that extra battery and extra heft? And also the 7000mah M51. These two should be topping charts, no?

Get the Poco X3 instead. It costs less than $200 now for the 64 GB version. Imagine if the Poco M3 were $99, it would be an super killer phone.

                                For an entry level phone?
Why stop there...add 3 years of software support, O-LED with 120hz and wireless charging too!
Or perhaps carbon fibre body as well? Will you finally be satisfied for an ENTRY LEVEL phone hmmm?

This Black Friday, a Moto G8 Power is available for €145 in Europe, and that is a better deal because I trust Moto more than Mi/Poco/oppo etc etc etc
