You cant put something that is not ready for mass production on a product that requires millions and millions of units.
Unless you sell the product for a ridiculously high price which nobody is willing to pay. And phones are already very expensive.

And yes, im against any innovation, thats why i buy all those phones, tablets, TVs every year. Shame on me.

I work in material design, there are definitely forms of glass that are very hard/ impossible to break, however they are very expensive because they have not entered mass production.
Only reason they have not entered mass production is because you (the consumers) keep on buying bad glass (that is already in mass production) so it is uneconomical to make the switch, so they dont. Upfront costs are a thing and they won't pay them if you dont make them and keep on buying phones that need screen protectors.
Just.stop.please, you are ruining it for everybody.

If you keep buying bad products you keep on feeding anti-innovation. Refuse to buy new phones that still have easy to break glass, we are 13 years since the first touch based phone, nothing has changed.
Btw sapphire already exists and it is a thing, it is much harder to break. The only reason we got it now (kind of) is because sheeple were buying apple phones. Even though they had ready the technology in 2017 they did not put it in, because people kept on buying.
Imagine if you were not to buy bad phones how much faster innovation would have happened. The smartphone revolution only happened because people made the right choice. If they had chosen the old nokias we would still be using them and smartphones would be dead.
Now people make the wrong choice and buy breakable screens, so we keep on getting breakable screens. Stop buying screen protectors, have higher standards!

Why should you be able to scratch the display? That's my point. Why do you support bad products by giving them a free pass when buying a screen protector?
Ceramic basically cant scratch but it can shatter, then you have sapphire which cant shatter butnif easy to scratch. The problem is technical and companies should have had good solutions already, they mostly don't because laymen keep buying screen protectors instead of complaining about the shoddy quality of the screens (i.e. by not buying the new model that keeps on using a screen that needs a screen protector).
Users with low standards are the bane of this industry. They killed the replaceable battery, the miniaturization (that used to be the norm instead of the exeption), and ofc make hard for shatter/scratch proof glass to develop faster (because they keep on buying shoddy screens basically).
You are part of the problem and I am telling you "stop".
