It is interesting that big western names like apple and nokia want to kick a south korean company out of the game!
Go samsung and teach them that these days people trust technology not name!

WP8 will not come close to the Ippone or the SIII. Ugly design, heavy weight.... and i wonder those who talk about build-quality... do you keep your phone for 5 or 10 yrs? :) Life cycle of a phone is around 1 yr, though it varies among regions.

Anyways, nokia has put all its eggs in one basket, which is way tooo risky. Google is still flying, by the time it stabilizes, Nokia is out of business... WP sucks...

AnonD-40735, 16 Aug 2012Nokia = Microsoft I have a WP mango and I think that is... moreWhy are you so desperate to prove that WP8 is a fail? It is like your 6th or 7th comment on this thread ranting the same thing. Did Sammy pay you or something? And if you think WP Mango is a joke then it is not for you, as simple as that.

By the way, it is one of the most complete OS out there in the market which never gets laggy even after months of use. Even better than PC Windows. That's why I am really looking forward to W8 as well as WP8. And if my intention is to buy a WP8 then I would be foolish to consider any OEM except Nokia. Phenomenal build quality, Pureview plus rich recording technology and water proof coating is what I am looking for and that's what they are going to offer. And if there is any company from which I can really expect a surprise, an innovation, then again that has to be Nokia.

Nokia beats Samsung in hardware if they were both using same OS (eg. Windows Phone 8). Nokia would win in most categories.

                              Build Quality = Nokia
                              Signal Reception = Nokia
                              Call Quality = Nokia
Camera = Nokia (PureView + RichAudio)
Screen = I'll give it to Samsung right now since WP7 can't do high resolution yet. Nokia does have Clearblack technology that does give them screens with best outdoor visibility. Couple sites already tested that.

So I take it that Nokia are going to put a phone out that is so amazing people will stop buying Samsung phones. Plus the event is only a little time before the Apple event. Truly the design must be outstanding and not just a rehash of the Lumia range its something totally new and better than the truly non amazing leaks so far. Some how I doubt it.

And before anyone kills me I own a lumia 800 but I prefer no not prefer but love to use my S3 over it any day.

Sadly, Nokia just like Microsoft often release their products half baked.
Nokia Lumia and WP8 - Bigdeal!!

I believe that current growth of WP7 is due to Lumia sales. Good, but they are the high end phones. WP8 will gain a lot more traction with more choice in the medium and low end range of smartphones. I am sure that Nokia realise this and will pleasantly surprise us at the event.

Do they really have to do that to get attention? I mean, their products have improved with the Lumia and unfortunately, sales have been poor. But challenging the biggest mobile maker now is kind of a desperate move. He's obviously just trying to get some kind of publicity by calling out Samsung.

@ the comment that WP mango is years behind. You obviously don't know how to use it properly or it is not a Nokia WP. Ignorance is a terrible trait.
