Your argument is especially a funny one when you look at Google (you know, the maker of Android) and their Pixel phones and watching them stumble and trip over themselves being unable to fix their own software s**t on their own devices. It's like the cringiest comedy ever. And then you have people bragging how amazing Android is and how iOS will never be better. I never said it's "better". I always say they are the same thing, trading blows in features. Coz I'm not a fanboy unlike most here, no matter how hard you all try to paint me otherwise just because I step in Apple's defense after people say absolute horses**t about it. But god forbid saying you actually prefer iOS over Android because of perks it has (like longer updating support, much faster updates delivery globally, far better privacy and control of it etc) and Android doesn't. Coz you know, instant fanboy flag by fanboys from the other camp.

People dismiss Apple so quickly, but so conveniently ignore that Apple is the only maker that made entire own OS from ground up and actually succeeded and is equivalent to Android in every aspect (only stuck up Android fanboys say otherwise, but it just is). Everyone else is just tagging along with Android, doing absolutely nothing but bolting extras on top of what others have made. Also Apple is the only vendor that makes own chipsets and is damn good at it. Which can't be said the same for Samsung and their Exynos, at least at present. The rest again just tags along by using someone else's work (Snapdragon, Kirin or Mediatek). Can't include Huawei currently as their presence on market is just weird. They did have pretty good chipsets and we'll see what HarmonyOS will be like in a long run... It's so annoying reading GSMArena comments which are full of self absorbed ignorant Android fanboys who just piss on Apple non stop and being absolutely and totally unable to look at it even half realistically. But rush to call me Apple fanboy just because I'm not sipping on their shitty koolaid like a total derp...

Plus he is familiar with Android, so switching to the Tab S7+ wasn't much of a problem.
He does basic tasks like web browsing, some entertainment apps, email, etc.
I doubt he'd need a Surface Pro 7.

The problem is that are the only ones that I will recommend buying. And they are expensive to have like a separate device (I mean laptop + one of this tablets).
The Android tablet market is not what it used to be. I would have liked to see some Xiaomi or Realme new tablets, at least for comparison with Samsung tablets. The only ones that still make Android tablets are Lenovo, but those are average at best.
And this is also because of the developers. They make special apps for ipads, but not for Android tablets. And that's the sad true. The only thing that somehow rescues Android tablets (at least Samsung ones), is Samsung Dex. But, I don't know how much Samsung will invest in this too, if it will not be profitable in the long run. I know a lot of people who will rather buy a Surface tablet for productivity instead of a Samsung tablet with Dex mode.
