IpsDisplay, 08 Dec 2020This is possibly the most outdated/ out of touch comment I&... moreJust because it's a stupid and weird design doesn't make it relevant or appealing. That Wing thing makes absolutely no sense and it's the mostniche thing I've seen. Like 50 ppl will totally want it for some reason and the rest won't even be bothered. V50 dual display, fine, it's sort of what inspired Surface Duo, but this weird T shaped thing really makes no sense at all.

Good move, the K and Q series will benefit from somebody else doing them, instead of LG reusing the Helio P35 for a bunch of their phones and in generql just bad specs for the price

Using helio p 22 in their phones and over priced it and then think oh. Its not selling hahahaha just look wat happened to HTC , Sony etc they were kings but now its a different scenario honest specs & prices they must adopt or its a closed chapter

ODM is OK for enter level phone.
Normally,Redmi Number series(like Redmi7,Redmi9/9A/9C) and Redmi Note non pro version(Redmi Note8,Redmi Note 9 4G(the one with Sn662,called Poco M3 with different camera in some area) )are ODM phone
But I do suspect mid range phone made by ODM company

Well LG need to sell Mid-rangers with mid-ranger chipsets and battery life. Decent GPU, decent camera. Look at Xiaomi and hw their midrangers are quality and cheap, Xiomi specs for about $ 250 USD in brands like samsung, oneplus, iphone, and oppo would be like 350 USD. LG is giving trash phones with low specs and high prices like Motorola. They are fallen giants. They need to do better.

The bad decisions is that they have you sitting on the LG bench

"Competition from Chinese smartphone brands has forced LG to take this new measure which it hopes will pay off by reducing the R&D costs associated with developing its budget phones alone."

I wouldn't be surprised about this. I mean, even Samsung made the same move back in late 2019: https://www.androidcentral.com/samsung-outsourcing-some-production-china-compete-chinese-brands. When you have a brand like Xiaomi who can give a crazy value-of-money smartphone despite the built-in ads, you really have to think of a hard strategy.

                Generic?

LG literally launched the LG wing which looks nothing like any other phone and that is objective truth

They have an entire explorer project specifically for unorthodox phones.. With even rumors of a commercially ready rollable smartphone (which is far from generic)

You can maybe still claim uninspiring but to directly or indirectly discredit their direction to being more experimental/different is a crime

AnonD-804996, 08 Dec 2020Who even considers LG phones? They are so uninspiring and n... moreI do. I even sold off my Samsung Galaxy Fold that I got for only a few months old in favour of an LG V50 with DualScreen case and absolutely have zero regrets about it. Definitely THE best purchase I have ever made for an Android phone in my entire life. Now I'm eyeing hard to buy the Wing 5G some time in the future.

Who even considers LG phones? They are so uninspiring and not even cheap they don't even cross my radar like ever. And now they'll be just some generic device already sold by someone else, possibly at lower cost. I'm not following LG's logic.

What cost? For customers? NO, NO for LG!!! You'll get the same overpriced low end phones, but now even with cheaper specifications and who knows what quality control. LOL

Good move. But they need to improve their software and updates too.
