They just want to have iphone x like design, put more pixels, and increase screen to body ratio. If huawei, mi 8, poco f1 has infared and 3d camera (only huawei) for face unlock and selfie.

"Apple’s intentions were clear since it acquired Intel’s modem business back in 2019. Intel initially planned to compete with Qualcomm in the 5G space, but Apple decided it will go on with Qualcomm for another few years as it completes the design of its own modems."
