2020 Winners and Losers: OnePlus

28 December 2020
The brand has two excellent releases to its name this year, but did it turn its back on the "Never Settle" mantra?

I had the one plus 8 for less than a month. The phone was solid, great build, very light in the weight department, but wasn't feeling the battery life for the price I was paying and returned it.

I was very close to getting the 8t. It seemed like a great buy, but something told me no after watching and reading so many reviews. The 8 pro was also an option as I saw some deals on ebay, but in the end I was able to get the s10 5g and trade it in to samsu g for the s20+ for 435.

jellylow, 28 Dec 2020Lol it's not even a real 5G phone, the speed you'... moreWell I am not talking about if it really supports 5g or not even if it has the best connectivity...
There is no 5g network available in india! I just wanted to State that Among the all 5g Smartphones launched in India this year Nord is the best selling 5g device.

8T should be the loser, not because it's not a great phone, but because of how they market the phone. Their tagline for the 8T "Ultra stops at nothing", but clearly the 8T stops at:

          1. IMX 586 (sensor from 2 years ago)
          2. LPDDR4X instead of LPDDR5
          3. SD865 instead of SD 865+
          4. no wireless charging, no IP rating
          5. 65W charging while Oppo and Realme already have phones with 125W
          6. useless cameras (5MP macro & 2MP depth??? Not like the wide angle camera can't provide depth information with conjunction with the main cam)
          7. Gorilla Glass 5 instead of 6 or even Victus?

For those who want to say I'm just looking at the spec sheet, just remember that OnePlus started it first with their marketing tagline "Ultra stops at nothing".

I don't think it can get any brighter here.

OnePlus 8 pro is one of the most well rounded flagships of the year that doesn't put a dent in your wallet.

OP losing what it once stood for and loved by many. It was never too big to fail, so, it should better introspect what fans loved it for.

Bad year for Oneplus no doubt, their top of the line phones are too high in price and their low end offerings are bad.
