Niko, 20 Aug 2012Did you recently lear "noob" as a new word? Then ... morewhen did I even say the S2 ics was buggy ( though it was which was provided by Sammy) and I personally feel gingerbread was a more balanced os than ics though its not Google's problem the manufacturer didn't optimise it to fit perfectly into older devices... thats why I flashed to custom roms even when I was greeted hello noob by xda and even though I dono much about commands and other technical things I would recommend to flash custom roms way before waiting to get optimum performance... and Xperia are special bcoz they are the only bunch of devices to get ics than selective treatment by others

A few days back the news came out that two of the most popular smartphones of LG’s Optimus series, LG Optimus 2X and LG Optimus Black, will not get updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but turns out that it was all talk.

LG seems to be keeping its promise regarding the update for both the phones. Today got to see something special at a retail mobile shop that confirmed that the LG Optimus Black will certainly be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Today at a retail shop, we saw a sealed box of the LG Optimus Black’s retail unit which had a sticker pasted on it that read “Android 4.0 upgradable”. The LG users can take a sigh and can finally feel like moving along with the world.

Anonymous, 20 Aug 2012okay 0,0 dont drag s2 on this thing and ics on s2 isnt bugg... moreSII International version does have a crappy ICS with ICS features missing, so bad in fact that many downgraded to GB. I had it, and I hated it. Seems to me Sammy made it crappy on purpose to push people over to SIII, not a tactic I like. So i got myself a RAZR instead.

And Niko didn't bring it up, Raju did.

We were also asking for a bug fix for the SII, and Sammy said "no - not likely". So let's hope that those who still have that ol' lump gets a proper Jellybean update, with all features.

Anyways, on this topic, let's hope the BLack gets ICS, and to have more and more devices over to Android 4.* in general.

I hope LG get taken to court! They've falsely claimed to provide ICS countless time, yet they haven't. I'm not going to spend anymore time writing this message, LG aren't worth it. :(

the optimus black used to cost 350 euro, it's unacceptable that they won't release an ics update. we should be talking about jelly bean not ics. the only cheap devices that will get ics are xperias.

And how many manufacturers will do jelly bean to the phones that were released at the same time as SGS2 were? is this a fanboism?! if yes you are behaving like one. LG is famous for being sluggish and unconcern when it comes to software/firmware upgrade and that is the fact. you don't have to go far enough only read here what people say about it.
