Dont tell me about lens hood in actual camera world like I didnt handle any real camera before (actually I have it now). The method & results are way way different.
The point is you were trying so hard as if Sony 'Zeiss T* coating' got any advantage againts others because its the real deal. In real life usage, it did not. What matter are results.

Just useless macro/depth.

Nick Tagataka, 17 Dec 2020That's actually a bit questionable since it's imp... moreWhen any photo has glare, it is always because ppl do not have the common sense to avoid camera pointed directly to sun or still lower angle of light that directly hits the phone.
Inside cam module, there is some light reflection. That gets worse when too much light is in.
If even professional glass lenses can have issues with it, let alone cheap plastic ones used on cellphones.

While I can see that in some low light scenes Xperia 1 II exhibits less lens flares than its rivals, you can also say Xperia's tendency to render deep, dark shadows are effectively hiding them.

Let's see what Vivo can do with the ZEISS lens. A three-way smartphone camera fight between Vivo, Sony, and HMD Nokia wouldn't hurt at all.

Not much honest from marketing point of view.
Not as bad as using Nikon camera to pretend phone is taking the photo.

After all, there's only so much that a mere lens coating can do to the actual image quality.

Anonymous, 17 Dec 2020Sony has the T*. Vivo is gonna have T*. HMD does not. ... moreIn order for Huawei to put Leica branding, their phones must pass Leica's quality inspection including (and probably the most significant one being) the lens quality test. Apart from P20 Pro which was their first generation device with a large sensor, all of their high end P/Mate series had a great quality lens with good corner to corner sharpness. Obviously they won't allow a phone company to use their name when their phones have a crappy optics LMFAO.

Funny that even Xperia using it, still got corner softness, uneven sharpness all around images, glare reflection just like any other phone. 😂😂😂
The so called 'Leica branded chinese lens' on Huawei much more better when it comes to lens quality.
I wonder which company exactly only using 'branding name' for the sake of marketing.
